Maybelline Color Tattoo Pomegranate Punk Review

I've been in love with Maybelline's Color Tattoos for quite a while now. Many of you may remember this haul post where my sister had picked up 3 shades for me. Color tattoo eyeshadows had taken everyone by storm back then, and not without reason! These cream-gel eyeshadow are intensely pigmented and last an amazing number of hours.

The shade I'm reviewing today is Pomegranate Punk, a gorgeous wine burgundy with fine golden shimmer. When sheered out, it gives a nice plummy pink colour and the shimmer becomes more prominent, but not OTT. Texture-wise, the eyeshadow isn't buttery creamy, but somewhat like a compacted smooth cream- a little hardened.
I have found that working with the Color Tattoos is easier with my finger, although Maybelline does provide a brush too. It's a normal flat eyeshadow brush, not very densely packed, and the bristles are quite soft. I don't use it much, as using my finger warms up the eyeshadow and makes it so much easier to apply and blend.

The Color Tattoos are not meant to be impulsively layered up. They go from fab to cakey in less than a second. However, building up the pigmentation gradually in thin layers does the trick. Just let the layers set in between.
Pomegranate Punk sets pretty quick to a semi-matte finish, and once it does, nothing can make it budge for atleast 8 to 10 hours, even without a primer. I haven't tested it for 24 hours, and lets be realistic, who does wear makeup for an entire day?! But yes, upto a duration of 10 hours, there was no creasing or fading that I could detect at arms length from the mirror. Up close, I thought it looked the slightest bit patchy near the outer corner of my eyes, but that's me being too critical.

All in all, one of the best eyeshadows I have ever tried, cream and otherwise. These offer amazing quality, intense pigmentation and a smooth texture, everything at a good price. Don't stop yourself from getting one...or three ;)

Price: 350INR for 4gm
