Birthdays.. they are amazing in so many ways! You get to do whatever you want to for 24 hours, thats a lot of time! Plus the decorations, the cake and the non stop phone calls from everyone...did I mention the gifts? They just make your day don't they?
And when your sister gifts you an eyeshadow palette (which you had been ogling for no less than 2 weeks) it's like the perfect chocolate coated cherry on your cake! Thank you Smriti! You are the bestest! EVER! This post was long due, but better late than never yes?
The Accessorize Lovely Day Eyeshadow Palette is my new love :)
Lovely Day (what a cute name!) consists of 32 eyeshadows, pearl, shimmer and matte. The variety of shades here makes so many looks possible- form your soft everyday ones to the days when you need some colour on your eyes.
I think this one is the more neutral of the two palettes launched by them, but do not count it as boring! With the soft browns and neutrals are some rich and vibrant greens, blues, purples, copper and gold.
Need I tell you how pretty the packaging is? Look at the photo! Leopard print sleek case with roses, the brand name embossed and a pink elastic band which secures the case tight (making it easy to carry around and relatively travel friendly). So beautiful.
The case comes with a mirror inside. It is wide enough and good for doing touch ups. No brush is provided, (but then mostly the brushes that are given with the products are just not upto the mark). It is really compact even though there are 32 shades. This makes it so ideal for carrying on your holiday trips, one palette and you are sorted. :)
Each shadow is the size of a penny (a bit smaller than the 5 rupee coin). The shades are immensely pigmented, with the matte ones being slightly weaker than the shimmer/pearl ones (they would need a few coats for the proper colour to show up). They are all extremely soft and the shimmer is not gritty. Not one bit. And they apply beautifully.
Fallout is very minimal and the shadows last you the entire day (matte ones a little less) with a good primer (and around 4 to 5 hours without one).
Here are the swatches:
Overall, I am greatly impressed with this palette! It will not burn a big hole in your pocket like the high end ones, but will work just as well. And you get 32 shades. :)
Price: 1600/- (16gm)
Smriti got it on a discount for 1299/- from Jabong.
(It was delivered in a good condition except the far right topmost shadow which was sort of broken.. but nevermind).
