Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gloss Review

Before I discovered my new found love for lipsticks, I was a big fan of glosses. Having tried nearly every drugstore gloss in the market, I have to say that nobody does it better than Maybelline. And with their High Shine glosses, Maybelline has truly outdone itself!

The sponge tip applicator

The packaging is no-nonsense. Square transparent tube with a mirror finish silver cap. Overall, it's a little on the bulky side and feels quite sturdy. The cap screws on tightly and makes the tube leak proof. The applicator is not your regular doe-foot one. It's a slanted sponge tip which picks up the right amount of gloss.

With a wax-free formula they offer vibrant colour payoff. The texture is so smooth it'll just glide like a dream on your pout. It feels very moisturizing and amazingly light. All this with no stickiness! I'd say it's the dream gloss formula, except maybe in the longevity department.

Because the High Shine glosses are non sticky, they last only for 2-3 hours, are transferable, and do not survive meals. The darker colours however, do leave a stain behind.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gloss Plum Luster Review

Plum Luster (120) - This is a gorgeous plummy fuschia. The red undertones are quite prominent in the tube, though on my lips it comes out as pinkish plum with muted red undertone. It does full justice to the name! Plum Luster has very fine shimmer that flashes silver and purple. It's obvious on the lips only up close. This shade leaves a nice stain behind so you can rock your plum lips through the day by refreshing it with some clear gloss. Win! :) This is a shade which totally makes your pout look all juicy and delicious!

Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Gloss Mirrored Mauve Review

Mirrored Mauve (110) - I simply had to get this shade! You see, I was in love with Mauve Dream from the Shine Seduction range (Anyone still remember those?). And then Maybelline went and discontinued it leaving me all bummed out. Well, I've found a near perfect dupe in Mirrored Mauve! It's a dusty mauve pink with hints of milkiness, much more pigmented than its Shine Seduction brother. I find it to be such a sweet girl-next-door kinda shade, perfect for rocking a pastel look. It also goes well with dramatic eye makeup. Mirrored Mauve comes very close to my natural lip colour and looks very effortless. It does not contain any shimmer and leaves no stain behind.
