Hooked Onto # 5 :)

1) Giant Mugs of Coffee
Costa Cafe recently opened close by, and I love taking a walk down in the evenings for some quiet time alone. A huge huge cup of coffee (the 1st time I ordered for the large cup I didn't know that it would actually be this big) and the lake across the road. Quiet evenings. *bliss*

2) Re-discovering Old Favourite Chocolates
Kit-Kat came out with a new drk chocolate version! Sooo much better than the normal one. I love dark chocolates.
And oh... Nutties! Caramel and butterscotch-ey bits of heaven.

3) M.O.D
They finally opened a counter in Garud Mall (it isn't very close.. but its the closest outlet from the hostel.. so I don't really mind). "Mad Over Donuts". They have an amazing selection. My favourite being Choco Bomb (heat it up and bite into a chocolate explosion! Although you wouldn't want to see me while I'm indulging in one... It' s very very messy).
Try the Oreo one, Midnight beauty (dark chocolate), Cinnaster (its all plain looking but do not under estimate it), the White chocolate one (my roomie loves it & is insisting I put it here) and the one filled with bravian cream!

4) Lajja
Written by Taslima Nasrin, it is one of the best books I have read so far. Thanks again to my roomate who insisted I give it a read. After a lot of nagging from her, I finally picked it up. Needless to say, I have no regrets.

Park Avenue Beer Shampoo: Review

I am not a big fan of beer.. yes you heard me right all you beer lovers... I feel weird every time I try to drink it. My roomate on the other hand loves beer like crazy!
But just beacuse I don't like the taste of beer doesn't mean I can't use it in other ways! I know you all are well aware of the so claimed fabulous effects of using beer on your hair.. Now I haven't used it on my hair either till date, but I found Park Avenue's Beer Shampoo at Health and Glow and I couldn't stop myself from picking it up. Lets see how it fared yeah?

Amway Eyeliner Pencil Kajal Coal: Review

Sometimes you do have that "love in first sight" experience.. yes, sometimes you are THAT lucky one. But for most of us, that's just not meant to happen. So you struggle with different options until you find THE one you've always wanted.
Now, before it sounds like I am talking about love.. let me clarify, I am not. Things like the perfect moisturiser, foundation and other beauty\makeup stuff are harder to find I think. You buy something and pray it works, and then it doesn't and you experience a mini heart break. Sometimes, just sometimes, finding Mr. Right is easier.

Amway Eyeliner Pencil Review

And so was the case with me finding MY perfect HG Kajal! There was trying out of various other ones before I ran into Amway Attitude Eyeliner Pencil in Kajal Coal... It sure was love with the first use! And now I am over the moon.. or maybe over the entire universe if I can manage that. Let me tell you'll about this beauty.

Chocolatey American Pancakes: Recipe

Whenever I crave something sweet, I invariably turn to pancakes. The hour of the day doesn't matter because, let's face it, pancakes taste good pretty much any time, any month, any season. Just introduce a twist into the usual recipe and you're good to go. Of course, when the twist is chocolate, you won't say no right? ;)

Chocolate Pancakes recipe

So if you want to make pancakes because you fancy them like me or if you're looking for a quick trip to  chocolatey goodness, follow this amazingly easy recipe, and you'll be dishing out rich, fluffy pancakes in no time.

Hooked Onto # 4 :)

1) Bebinca
Though I have not been to Goa yet (I know! Tch!), one of my thoughtful batchmates who is from there introduced me to this wonderful yumminess.. and I have been hooked ever since. Pity I haven't found them anywhere else.. so I do nag people I know to get me a box if they are on a trip there :P
2) Lotus sunscreen
Its getting hot and really sunny in Bangalore again. Now I know we are supposed to put sunscreen religiously everyday.. but I tend to be very lazy with it. It's a new mission now to use it every single day! And I love this lotus one! Its perfect. Reviewing it soon.
3) Braun epilator
This is such a lifesaver!! Gone are the days of going to a parlour and putting yourself through the chip chip -ness. This little beauty has taken my heart. 20 minutes, comfortably on my bed, be it anytime, and I am sorted! *in love*  (and also a big THANK YOU to the person who got me this! Mwah!)

4) Grey's Anatomy
Just got season 8 and 9... Watching it back to back now. Can't help it at all.  And before I realise it, its 5 in the morning and the birdies are chirping outside :D
Any Grey's Anatomy fans here??
5) After Eight Mint Chocolate thins
These are like delicate melt in your mouth must haves. I love mint and chocolate combo. And if you do too, these are a must try!

What are you guys currently hooked onto? Do share :)

Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector: Review

Garnier BB Cream Review

2 little letters for instant perfect skin! This had me curious ever since I read those lines and of course saw Deepika Padukone's flawless bright face in the advertisement. Sure, ads can be misleading but then I really wanted to see if it was better than the Maybelline one. (So, as soon as my maybelline one finished I got this small tube to test and as I have been using the maybelline one ever since it came out I think I can safely compare).

Dare to Be: Inspiration for the Week

I came across this wonderful passage on goodreads and I thought to share it with all our readers. Just a little inspiration at the start of a new week. Here it is lovelies..
“Dare to Be
When a new day begins, dare to smile gratefully.
When there is darkness, dare to be the first to shine a light.
When there is injustice, dare to be the first to condemn it.
When something seems difficult, dare to do it anyway.
When life seems to beat you down, dare to fight back.
When there seems to be no hope, dare to find some.
When you’re feeling tired, dare to keep going.
When times are tough, dare to be tougher.
When love hurts you, dare to love again.
When someone is hurting, dare to help them heal.
When another is lost, dare to help them find the way.
When a friend falls, dare to be the first to extend a hand.
When you cross paths with another, dare to make them smile.
When you feel great, dare to help someone else feel great too.
When the day has ended, dare to feel as you've done your best.
Dare to be the best you can –
At all times, Dare to be!”

February Velvette Box

Sorry for putting this up so late.. but I just got one of my 3rd molars removed and I'm taking some recovery time off. Have any of you taken them out ever? Such a pain they are, according to me.. I think the Almighty above should have just made us without it. Would have been saved so much trouble...

Anyway, coming back, my first experience was with the January box, which wasn't very good. I didn't like the products I received much. Naturally a lot of apprehension sets in when you take one last chance and place an order for the box again.. But the February box turned out to be such a pleasant surprise!
The box was delivered 1st of march (mostly because I placed my order a bit late.. which is fine by me. My sister actually asked me to order it.. hehehe)

The Box...
It came nicely bubbled wrapped and so signs of damage anywhere, with a pretty red ribbon bow, keeping up with the valentine's spirit of the month.

The 3 products I received were...
  • Fig and Rouge Aloe and Mint Balm
  • Ofra Fruit Acid Lotion
  • Purely Pro Blush in Universal.

Now, coming to the best part- The balm and blush are full sized!!! Thank you Velvette team! :)
Along with that, there was a pretty red magnetic heart with "Be My Velvettine" written, which is stuck to my study table now.. (since its the only thing made of iron that I have in my hostel room).
A bunch of discount coupons are also there, which I think I might use. There are cards describing each product in the box, and of course, a personalised one to me :)

Have been using the products since a week now. Look out for the reviews, they're coming up soon :)
