Nivea Fruity Shine: Pink Guava Lip Balm Review

Over the past few months I have been having this sudden craze for lip balms ... I am hoarding on them rather enthusiastically. (In my defense.. one always needs lip balms so they will not get wasted) and I will review them each here. But lets begin with one of my absolute favourites for now. The Nivea Fruity Shine in Pink Guava.
This was one great find. And here's why:

Cannes Film Festival : Continued

Hello all!
Here's an update on the new appearances at the Cannes Film Festival. Lets see who all got it right and who messed it up shall we?

*Aishwarya Rai Bacchan made heads turn once again.
For the premiere of Blood Ties, she sashayed down the red carpet in a white Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla floor length anarkali with colourful heavy embroidery. Need we say that she looked gorgeous and is definitely back in shape? The V neckline definitely helps to make her look slimmer. We like the long trail of buttons in the front too, it's another illusion designed to elongate.

Jergens Soothing Aloe Relief: Review

So in one of my last posts, I had shared with you about the bad experience my room-mate had with the Vaseline aloe body lotion..and that I had given her a few suggestions before she went ahead and did exactly what I had asked her not to.. (she does this ALL the time).
Anyway, getting past that habit of hers, this was one of the lotions that I had recommended to her.
Jergens Soothing Aloe Relief (skin cooling moisturizer with aloe and eucalyptus).
I have been using it for over a month now and I have liked it a lot. Here's why:

Cannes 2013 : Day 1 & 2

I'm sure all of you all are aware that the 66th annual Cannes Flim Festival is currently going on (from 15 to
26 May 2013). Now this is a bit late I know, but here's what our Bollywood beauties wore. Take a look but beware, it's pic heavy..!

* Sonam Kapoor went traditional on the red carpet in an Anamika Khanna sari with an embroidered jacket, completing the desi look with just a kundan nath (from her mother's jewellery collection). Yawn for all neck-pieces and cuffs and earrings- Sonam took statement jewellery to the next level in one move! We like how the nath stands out as a strong tribute to her Indian roots. The sari was an elegant lace affair, delicate and feminine, and a hint of edginess was introduced by the heavily embroidered jacket, the length of which lent a gown-like look to her sari. Her sister Rhea Kapoor styled her outfit, and we say good job done!

As its brand ambassador, she promoted the new L'OR Sunset collection by L'Oreal. Dark berry lips, dramatically winged eyeliner, and strong brows and contouring worked together with the matte base evoking an earthy yet ethereal look. And the soft pink blush *love*.
We think it's how anyone would imagine the strong Indian woman of today- a woman at par with the world, but firmly ensconced in her culture.
Her hair is in a soft vintage style bun which ups the glamour, while Jimmy Choo shoes tie the whole look together.

(Does anyone else feel her look is reminiscent of Rekha?)

EN-VY Nail Color: Cotton Candy

ENVY NailPolish Cotton Candy

Hello everyone! I was wondering to myself yesterday how difficult it is if you are a student and fond of make up\beauty products and nice lil things. Its a constant hunt to keep looking for things that won't burn a hole in your pocket.
This is how I found EN-VY nail color! (Never ending hunt) For all those who are wondering which brand exactly this one is, let me tell you that its manufactured for Health and Glow especially. So no its not a dud, you'll find in the H&G outlets in your city. (And if H&G isn't there at your place then you need not worry, there will be other brands we will review also. I am sure you'll find something that'll be accessible.)
The bottles caught my eye sometime back when I was randomly walking through the aisles in one of the outlets. There are lots of colours available and picking one was impossible. So I came home with 2. All happy and went back again after a few weeks to get some more. *I am still planning to hoard them*

Today I will talk about the shade Cotton candy (022). Such a cute name, don't you think? Totally suitable for the pretty colour it turned out to be. I was confused between this and a grey shade but I am glad I picked this one. This is such an everyday wearable shade...I can see myself going back for a back up bottle soon. It comes out as an almost sheer colour with pale pinkish undertones on a light one layer application which I love. Somewhat like Maybelline Colorama Astral, but that one is a light baby pink. (I am not very good with colour description sorry). Cotton Candy makes your nails look so clean and longer, and it pretty much goes with anything in your wardrobe. Will make a good college\office wear nail polish.

It takes 2 layers to go opaque and give you the colour you see in the bottle. A milky pink colour, much like cotton candy!. It's very different from the regular pink or peachy nudes you come by. I am totally loving it!
The brush is decent and makes application easy. The quality of the lacquer is satisfactory. Went 3 days without chipping and I think it would have run for another day with teeny meany chips, but I felt like sporting another colour.

The best part?? Rs 49/- for a 9ml bottle!

How great is that?!Go get it!
I'm sooo getting the grey one next! (I have a red, a clear coat and a base coat. Will review them soon.)
