Nail Shades for Spring - Summer: C&D Picks!

Written by: Smriti on:

Spring and summer is always a time to flaunt fresh bright colours. Experiment with different hues during these hot months! Here's what we are loving:

  • Mint

Think super yummy Mint Mojitos. Ah! Isn't it the perfect pick-me-up in this tropical heat? Let that minty freshness go beyond this drink.
Try Maybelline Colorama in Absintocool toned pastel green. Gorgeous!

  • Aquatic Blues

And who wouldn't want to go have a super fun beach holiday? Lie under palm tress, sip on those mojitos and watch the endless blue ocean. While some lucky ones would actually get to do that, the rest of us can turn to something like Turquoise Lagoon (even the name is so summery). On 2nd thoughts.. if you are going on a beach trip, this would be great too :)
We even have our eyes on the shade Turquoise Green .. it's blue, it's green, it's metallic...it's perfect.

  • Tropical brights

What's summer without fun bright colours again? While we haven't tried any neons yet.. just a bit apprehensive, we can say without a doubt that colours like Colorama Sexy - let the bright hot pink pop! and ColorShow Coral Craze (the name says it all.. you just might get crazy over it) are must haves!
If colours like Sexy are too bright/bold for you, you could try Lotus Color Dew in Pure Plum which is quite a similar muted version.

  • Naturals

In doubt? Turn to something like Colorama Astral - a mild soft baby pink or if you prefer something nude the why not try L'Oreal Color Riche in Beige Boheme - a peachy beige brown neural...I cannot describe it precisely or ColorShow Nude Skin? Shades like these are pretty much always in style and won't clash with anything else you are wearing. Chic and sophisticated enough for work. What's not to love?

  • Pastels

While we haven't tried many pastels yet but they certainly look good during these hot months...we're thinking some lovely sherbet yellows (17 nailpolish in Sherbet Lemon, China Glaze Lemon Fizz or the OPI Banana Bandana just for a rough idea) and easter egg pastels. Check out the Spring 2104 collection by Essie.. yeah those are some pretty pretty colours!
Back home you could try ColorShow in Blueberry Ice and Blackcurrant Pop and Constant Candy

and lastly..

I would also like to mention shades like Lotus Color Dew Candy Drop - a muted pretty pink and Lakme Color Crush in 43 - so pretty again.

Now, of course we aren't saying "go out and get these very ones". No, just look around for similar shades and pick what suits you :)

Other than these we are also on the lookout for a bright Radiant Orchid shade. Any suggestions??
