Last week, we had shared our Red Carpet Look with the L'Oreal L'Or Luminare Cannes Collection. As promised, here is the review of the lipstick Moist Mat in Orange Power.
If you have been reading our blog regularly, you would probably know that I am more into everyday nude MLBB shades. Smriti still has a liking for some bright fuschias, but I generally stick to subtle pinks, corals.. subtle. So when we got this super bright orange.. my brain was actually spinning. Bright? Maybe I could deal with that.. but Bright Orange?! I had never tried such a colour before.
My eyes were huge and I went like "WHAAATTT!". Why am I telling you this? Simply because, lesson learnt : never go by first impressions :D
"Color Riche Moist Mat, with pure pigments delivers intense luscious color for 6 hours in 12 irresistible shades. It consists of Jojoba oil that provides absolute hydration for up to 4 hours.
Moist Mat has pure pigments and is enriched with new Light Illium complex for a rich matte effect with velvet fusion capsules and Ultra Gliding Shine Oils".
The packaging looks really beautiful I must say.. metallic rose gold with a small square button like area which shows the lipstick shade (it is so accurate to the colour inside) and the L'Oreal logo on the cap. Pretty luxurious. It shuts tight with a click but the tube is like finger print magnet (let that not bother you a lot ok?)
A few pics so that you can see the pretty tube :)
Texture is great. It goes on creamy smooth without any tugging. Even though it is matte it glides well. Once on the lips it feels quite silky.
You get good pigmentation. Orange power gives you the actual opaque tube colour in 2 swipes (so it will show up very well even on pigmented lips). It does not feel drying at all. (If you have used the new Lakme 9 to 5 range..which isn't too drying itself, this one feels more moisturizing.. just for a comparison). As i said before, it goes on creamy but settles down to a more matte finish after around 10 mintues. Stays on for 4-5 hours leaving a slight tint behind which goes off completely only with a makeup remover.
*make sure to stay within the lines while applying these lipsticks, as it can be a bit unforgiving, if you try to wipe*
Orange Power is a bright true orange colour. There, no other way to describe it :D *pair it with orange nails, looks great!*
If you build up more (not that it is needed) the colour can look somewhat neonish.
Check out the swatches below : (both in natural light)

The not so good points : The colour makes teeth look a bit more yellow.. you know how some colours do that (note to self : No showing too much teeth and smiling if I have this on!). And these Moist Matte lipsticks are expensive.
Close up lip swatch :)
And here is how it looks on me :)
Price : 899 INR for 4.2g
Coming to the main point : Should you get this?
The colour is nice and bright. Quality is amazing. Orange is very in this summer and if you are a fan of the colour, you might want to check it out. However, it is expensive for a drug store brand :( So it is not a must have thing.
If you cannot find the shade anywhere else, then you could get it. If you are matte lipstick lover, definitely check the range out. If you are matte lipstick hater, you might want to try this once, it will change your mind hopefully (hehehe.. did I confuse you now?)
Try it once, the price is big con, but if you are absolutely in love with the colour and cannot get it out of your head, save up and get it :)
P.S. Like ever since L'Oreal put up those photos of Aishwarya Rai wearing Lincoln Rose, I cannot get that shade out of my head... I have to go try it soon! And Raspberry Syrup too :D
Talk about savings! *sigh*
Have you tried these Moist Mat lipsticks out? Which is your favourite shade? Did you like Orange power?
