Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss in Aubergine

Written by: Swati on:

Off late I have bought quite a few things...blaming the online shopping addiction! :P It makes things so easy sometimes.
One of the products that was on my list for a long time now was the Revlon Colorburst lipgloss in Aubergine (Smriti is very fond of  the shade Papaya by the way). So imagine my delight when I found it on a discount...I had to get it! And I have been loving it a lot since the day I got my hands on it.

What The Company Claims About The Product:
• A pop of weightless color with vivid, mirror-like shine. Outshines everything but you. It is formulated with:
• Micro-crystal formula for 5X the shine of patent leather.
• Plush applicator shaped to curves of your lips for smooth, even application of color.
• Revlon ColorBurst’s Elasticolor technology for rich color with a weightless feel.

• Moisturizers and anti-oxidants such as sweet almond oil and vitamin E conditions and improves lip texture.

It comes in a long transparent rectangular tube with a black patterned cap (I love the pattern of the colorburst range!). The tube is sturdy and looks nice. The wand is long (a bit longer than my comfort, but I got used to it eventually) with a flat sponge applicator, rounded at the tip (Now these had come a out a long time back and of course the applicator is fine, but now I prefer doe foot applicators a lot more). Nevertheless, application is easy with this one too.
The gloss barely has any fragrance or taste.

Coming to the best part about the Colorburst gloss, the texture. It is thick but almost negligibly sticky, non gloopy and glides on very very smoothly. It does not feel heavy on the lips and is quite moisturising. The pigmentation is good and Aubergine (being a darker shade) will cover pigmented lips well too. The formula gives a good shine to the lips. It lasts about 3 hours on me, including very light snacking.

Aubergine is a medium creamy plum shade with very slight shimmer. The shimmer is not too much and barely visible on application , but they give a beautiful finish. The shade in itself is very pretty and will flatter most skintones. It does look darker in the tube but comes out a bit sheer.
I am quite in love with the colour. It isn't too bright in-your-face kinds but still gives a pretty plummy wash of colour to the lips.

Price : 550 INR for 5.9 ml

The only downside could be the price. I wish these were priced slightly cheaper (but the quality is really good). Also, most of the other shades have visible shimmer which many would not like.
Apart from that, the Colorburst lipglosses are certainly one of the best formula wise and Aubergine is pretty plum shade that you should check out.

What do you think of Aubergine? Which is your favourite shade from the range?
