Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss Papaya : Review

Written by: Smriti on:

This is a post that has been looooooooong due! Papaya has been in my stash since ages now, I had first showcased it in the 3rd edition of Hooked Onto :D when I was honestly obsessed with it. Now, after all this time, Papaya is still one of the most reached out for lip gloss in my kit, the other being Mirrored Mauve by Maybelline.

Coming to the actual review...oh God, where to start..! I love it. I LOVE THIS SHADE. End of story, but for all you lovely readers, I'm duty bound to elaborate a bit more so you can all enjoy this beauty :)

Okay, here we go!

The Colorburst range by Revlon is one of their most successful range, they dished out some real quality stunners all together. The lip glosses too are a delight to own, with their ElastiColor technology, Revlon combined a weightless texture with rich colour. They also contain sweet almond oil and Vitamin E to keep your lips soft and moisturized.

I fell in love with the packaging when I saw it in magazines. The quilted pattern on the cap is so Chanel-esque, it spells class in spades! The minimalist logo stamped in silver, the clear tube showing its juicy contents..it's hard not to like :D

Papaya is a luscious coral-orange, that looks almost neonish in the tube but wears semi opaque on the lips. Depending on the pigmentation of your lips, its colour varies from a wearable orange to coral pink, almost like a candy! It has micro shimmer, very subtle and pretty.

Texture is thick yet light weight and the long paddle shaped applicator glides smoothly on the lips and distributes the product evenly. The formula is intensely moisturizing- my lips are perennially dry and Papaya hydrates it well, keeping them plump and soft.

The pigmentation of the gloss is something I could never figure out. Somehow it manages a good colour payoff, while being semi-opaque. I love the coloured translucency Papaya gives, a gorgeous juicy pout.

Once applied, the finish is highly glossy, 5x the shine of patent leather the company claims, with its MicroCrystal formula. Now I don't know about the 5x times claim, but Papaya sure is very very glossy. Lusciously glossy not at all tacky.

The Colorburst lip glosses are something everyone should experience. I cannot praise them enough! Swati reviewd the shade Aubergine a few days ago. It's the prettiest purpley-plum shade, a definite must-have for winter! See the review here.

I really want to try out Rose Gold, or Peony and if you have any suggestions on it do let me know in the comments below :)

Price : 550INR for 5.9ml

And before I sign off, a last lip swatch because..well, I spent a lot of time clicking them and want to share them all with you :D Muuuuaaah!
