Kama Ayurveda Kumkumadi Brightening Ayurvedic Face Scrub: Review

I always loved products by Kama Ayurveda...but that love is increasing more and more with each passing day. The Mridul cleanser is something I cannot do without, as you may have read earlier. Nalpamaradi Thailam is something I have been liking lately too. And to increase my love is the Kumkumadi Brightening Ayurvedic Scrub!
So, in 5 words...I am really liking this! Pssst it won the" Best Scrub award- Vogue Beauty Awards 2014".
The scrub comes in a bright orange cardboard packaging with gold accents. A glass tub contains the product and a small wooden spatula is also provided (very thoughtful!). Since the tub is glass, it is quite heavy and bulky. Also the tub is a little cumbersome to use, but since the product is so good, I make an extra effort :D
Frangrance is very herbal & ayurvedic, but I got used to it after a couple of times. It isn't bothersome.
The scrub is yellow with a fine walnut shell particles which thankfully aren't too harsh on the skin, provided you use it gently and don't get carried away. The texture is very creamy which nourishes the skin.
I massage this for around 2 minutes (the creamy texture helps) and wash it off with cold water. Along with mild exfoliation, it makes my skin soft, smooth and radiant. It does brighten (which I guess any kind of exfoliantion will do), but the effects are temporary on me. It hasn't reduced dark circles ... how can a scrub do that anyway?! I don't understand why the brand would say this :/ or pigmentation - I never expected it to.

Kumkumadi Brightening Scrub is no doubt a lot costlier than most of the other drugstore scrubs available.....But it is a good physical scrub especially for dry skin/winter months. It contains good ingredients, the cream base feels nourishing and doesn't dry out the skin. Will I repurchase it? Yes, I will for now, unless I come across something better.
I have oily-combination skin and it has worked well for me too and dry skinned women will surely love this a lot more.
Update 2020: I have shifted to Chemical Exfoliants & don't use physical scrubs with walnut granules anymore. I do like some physical exfoliation once on a while but I use ubtans for that since the powders are soft & a lot more gentle.
