Maybelline The Magnum Barbie Mascara : Review, EOTD

"What's the one makeup product you wouldn't leave the house without?"

A few months back I would have said kohl...you know the love connection between Indian women and kajal right?
Ask me the question today and my answer would be MASCARA!

Of course, on a regular work day the hospital sees me sans makeup (I have become so lazy, that I don't apply anything, not even kohl) and just stick to a bare minimum tinted lip balm...no one there would believe I was a beauty blogger :P :D

But, on an evening out, or when I am going anywhere else apart from the hospital, I just cannot do without mascara. The wonderful invention! This product has the magical ability to transform you from tired & sleepy to wide awake in just a few wand wiggles. Oooh yeah! Gimme some mascara!

Confession : I have always used mascaras from Maybelline! Talk about brand loyalty! Started with the Hypercurl, moved to Falsies & the Big Eyes, got back to the Falsies (favourite ever!!). Their mascaras have never let me down.
So yes, naturally I jinxed the whole thing & for once, I was somewhat let down by this one.

The packaging is quite girly, bright yellow and pink, looks fun. I am not a big fan of Barbie though (so I am not paticularly fond of the tube colors).

The wand is curved and flat, similar to the Falsies one, but somehow, the wand of the latter is way better.
The bristles of this one do a good job of covering all the lashes well.

Formula is an intense black, quite heavy & thicker as compared with the Falsies (which was on the wetter side). It dries quite quickly, and as you would be able to see in the photo below, it does clump. So, no 2nd layer...eesh! I had never experienced this issue with any of their mascaras before.

It is a waterproof formula and can only be taken off with a proper oil based remover.

The mascara adds some volume and thickness to the lashes, but only a tiny bit of length & curl

Price : 399 INR for 9.2ml

Overall, it was an okay one. Nothing spectacular...which by the way, is what the Falsies makes my lashes look like...spectacular.
If you are on the lookout for a mascara that adds volume and no length, you could check this out, though in my opinion, the Colossal mascara would do a better job than this one definitely.
You want a mascara from Maybelline? Skip this one and get one of their other variants. Easy.
