Innisfree Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask : First Impressions

Innisfree recently launched on Nykaa, and we couldn't be more exicted! They have a store in Delhi, but unfortunately they haven't opened up in other cities yet which made their products pretty much inaccessible. Now that this issue has been solved, we finally tried out some products from the brand and will be reviewing them soon. Up today is the Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask.

It comes in a brown paper box. The actual tub is a cute round one with a copper screw on cap (I
love the embossed cap!)

"This clay mask with its super volcanic cluster capsules powerfully adsorbs sebum to intensively resolve pore concerns.
  • Jeju volcanic clay is made from minerals released by volcanic explosions in Jeju. It's categorized as a preserved alkaline resource and is effective in removing sebum and other impurities. (Contains 6,020 mg of Jeju volcanic clay).
  • As the capsule bursts, the mask exfoliates and removes dead skin cells. The AHA ingredient chemically exfoliates and smoothes out skin.
  • The strong absorption of sebum and cooling effect of the clay refreshes the skin and contracts pores."

The mask is grey and super thick. It needs a bit extra effort to be applied, however, it does spread well and smoothly. The mask starts drying in around 5-7 minutes. I keep it on for about 15 mintues. It doesn't feel as stretchy like the normal clay masks. Since it is a deep cleansing clay mask, I use it once a week. You can also use this mask as a spot treatment for breakouts or just over the nose, if you suffer from blackheads/whiteheads. I always follow it up with toner and moisturiser.

You can feel the particles (volcanic cluster capsules) while you apply the mask, though I would have liked some more of them distributed in the mask overall.

It works incredibly well when it comes to oil controlling. The pores do look smaller immediately after using the mask, but there are no long term permanent effects. My breakouts have come down considerably at the moment (thanks to the regular skincare routine), so I cannot comment on how it works on acne as of now (I will update you on this if it ever helps me)
It does make the face look clean, brighter, smoother and quite soft to touch afterwards.

Price : 1110 INR for 100 ml

Overall, I am quite happy with this one so far. If you suffer from breakouts, open pores, blackheads etc this will come in very handy. It suits all skin types and you can alter the frequency of use depending on your skin type and oil levels. It is on the pricier side, which is the only con. If you don;t mind spending a bit extra, do give this a try.

Which are your favourite products from Innisfree? Do recommend us some :)

xoxo,
Swati
