SoulFlower Coldpressed Rosehip Carrier Oil : Review

Written by: Smriti on:

Oils are my new thing. I 'discovered' them quite late, but late is better than never!

When all the beauty world was taken by storm by facial oils, I was happily sleeping under a rock. Then I randomly stumbled onto the Extraordinary Boosting Elixir by L'Oreal and got curious. After the first application, I was a convert. I do not think I will ever let facial oils out of my sight ever again. Double emphasis! I've looked into it quite a bit and a post about oils and different skin types is mulling in the back of my mind right now, but for now let me introduce you to this little bottle of goodness :)

To tell you the truth, I bought this for my mother. I have since bought one for myself  too (and one for my Dad. Yes that's what happens when a daughter's excitement goes overboard) which I will be sharing with you in a while. So, essentially, this is going to be an account of her experience.

I chose the Rosehip variant for her because the company was smart enough to put Anti-Aging where I could clearly see it :D
I've already shared with you how my mother's skin has dramatically improved after using Revitalift products as an intensive treatment. We both decided to slowly phase out to more natural skin care items which will help her preserve her regained radiance.

SoulFlower Coldpressed Rosehip Carrier Oil review

The anti aging benefits come from the oil being rich in beta carotene, vitamin A, and omega 3 fatty acids, and also it having the ability to penetrate upto the deeper layers of skin. It is known to stimulate collagen production and improve skin elasticity, while also reducing fine lines and scar marks. Apart from being anti-aging, Rosehip oil has a multitude of other benefits.

It is great to heal sun-burnt skin and helps a lot with reducing redness to even out the skin tone.
Rosehip oil, due to its fatty acid content, is a good moisturiser for face and body. It can also be used to soften and smooth lips.
Your hair can gain from it too! Being a lightweight, dry oil, rosehip oil can be used on wet hair to tame frizz and keep the ends smooth.

After about a month of usage, my Mom seems happy with the results. Her skin stays moisturised for a long time, and has retained its softness. She usually applies it along with a spray of steam distilled rose water. The combination leaves her skin glowing, supple and healthy.
I use it on my lips sometimes, and although it does protect them from chapping further, I wouldn't swap my Nivea Essential Care lip balm for anything though!

Rosehip oil is has been all the rage for a while now. If you're looking to try it out, I'd say SoulFlower is a brand you could invest in. The price is good, and even though it says 'carrier oil' on the bottle, the company assures that it is safe and pure enough to use onto bare skin on its own. Or you could add your favorite essential oils to it for a customized blend :)
