Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Blush, Make Love Instead : Review & Swatches

Written by: Swati on:

Hello everyone!

Half my makeup collection is dominated by Makeup Revolution, the other half by Maybelline. Two real budget-friendly brands with a plethora of products to choose from and no compromise on quality!

When I didn't own any baked powders, I never understood the hype, but now I have. Baked powders give you more pigmentation and minimal fallout, and a more aesthetically pleasing product too. I wish I could say that the pigmentation pulls me in, but honestly, it's the prettiness 😃

Make Love Instead comes packed in a plastic pan with a clear lid. The lid is domed to fit the convex surface of the blush inside, which makes stacking a real hassle. The packaging is sturdy all over except at the hinge, where it matters the most. My other blush and the bronzer have already broken 😢

I told you I was seduced by the prettiness of this blush, see it for yourself! Can you resist something this gorgeous? Can you?

I almost didn't want to use it, or touch it even. Why mar that beautiful peachy marbled surface, with delicate orange veins... It took me two months to gather my courage and dip a brush into this blush, no kidding.

Pigmentation wise, it's sheerer compared to my old All I think about is You (what a mouthful!), but buildable. This looks more like an airy veil of colour on my cheeks, and can almost pass of as a rose-gold highlighter if I put a light layer on.

When built up, Make Love Instead turns out as a medium toned rosy peach. It doesn't look shimmery as it blends out to give more of a highlighted sheen. Due to its finish, one does need to have clear skin as it can enhance bumps to a great deal.

Single swipe

The following swatch serves to show how it looks peach and pink in different lights. The swipe here is built up twice, and the blended patch shows a single light layer of the blush. As you can see, it gives only a sheer veil of colour in one go, so it's perfect for beginners because you cannot go overboard with it!

Staying power is pretty impressive with 5-6 hours of wear on me. That ought to see you through the day, and who touches up their blush anyway?! All in all, a good buy for me, and even though the price may make you go ouch, bagging it during online sales won't! It comes down to nearly half of the original..!

Price : 750INR for 6g

Isn't the blush beautiful? I did tell you so!
