We at Curios & Dreams are ardent worshippers of lip balms. If you raid our purses/homes at any point of time, you'll be sure to find atleast 10 lying around, all being used at the same time!
From basics like Nivea and Maybelline, to holistic like Matra and Island Kiss, to luxury balms from The Body Shop and Forest Essentials, we've tried them all, and loved each for various reasons. Today, we've got the Sweet Narangi Juice luscious lip balm from FE in the spotlight!
While it may dent your pocket, it'll pamper your lips like nothing else 😉
This compact comes in a hexagonal outer cardboard box that we've misplaced, sorry!
Inside is this beautiful piece of art, a smooth oval sturdy compact, complete with a tiny mirror inside. The matte gold cover adds the perfect amount of oomph to the entire packaging. It's lid clicks shut for safety, making it very purse-friendly.
What you get inside is this - a solid balm, the colour of freshly squeezed Indian oranges.
The balm is imbued with a slightly herbal orange scent, not what you'd expect a traditional orange scent to be. The citrus is replaced by sweetness and a hint of something similar to incense. The fragrance does not linger long, so that's a plus point for sensitive noses.
The texture of this lip balm is like ghee (clarified butter), it melts on touch to become a soft and silky salve. On the lips, it has the consistency of a light wax, creating an effective shield between soft skin and the harsh environment.
It provides adequate hydration for normal lips, but if they are quite dry/chapped, this balm does not do much to heal them. However, it keeps my lips supple, glossy and protected against the wind, and even though it absorbs completely in just a couple of hours, my lips feel soft and moisturised thereafter.
I always slip this into my bag when I'm going out. Applying this in public gives me such a film-star moment, I love it!
