Nivea Whitening Smooth Skin Roll On : Review

Written by: Swati on:

I do not remember the last time I used a deodorant spray. For about 2 years now, I have shifted to roll ons. I somehow find them more gentle on the delicate underarm area. Plus roll ons are more discreet and travel friendly.

Sure roll on was my absolute favourite for the longest time (full review here), but then I have stopped seeing them in the market now. I believe Rexona has taken it over..correct me if I am wrong. While that wasn't a big deal for me as a consumer, the problem is that if you look at the new Rexona packaging now, you will find Alcohol in the ingredient list - which completely negates the purpose of me buying Sure - It was alcohol-free earlier.

Anyway, so I went ahead and got the Nivea Whitening Smooth Skin.

Packed in a glass bottle doesn't make it too travel friendly, but the bottle is nice overall. The product is a thin milky liquid.

The fragrance is a mild unobtrusive floral one. It isn't very strong, which is how I like deodorants to be..then I can layer my favourite perfume/body spray over easily.

It keeps you fresh all day long (for information - I do not perspire a lot and I live in Bangalore, which stays a lot cooler than the rest of the country).

Drying time is a bit longer compared to the Sure Roll on I was using earlier. It takes a minute approximately, which takes a while to get used to. I honestly do not have that much patience and I let it semi-dry most days...However, it does not leave any white streaks/marks on clothes.

It hasn't irritated me over the past few months and it is alcohol-free. It contains Aluminium though, which has a bit of a controversy around it. So please do your own research about this, if you are unsure. I don't mind aluminium.

Coming to the whitening claim, firstly I do not like it or support it. I am not a fan that they use it. And in case you were wondering, I don't think it has done anything much on that front.  My underarms are better than before but I won't say it is because of this product completely.
It's more to do with switching from alcohol-based deodorants to an alcohol-free one. So in my opinion, if you choose any alcohol-free deodorant, it will help you out to an extent.
I have also been doing other things as well to take care of the underarms and collectively they all have been making things better. (Read more HERE).

Price : 99 INR for 25ml ; 199 INR for 50ml (often on discount - available here)

Overall it's a nice one. If you are on the lookout for an affordable alcohol-free deodorant, you could check this one out. I would be repurchasing this definitely unless I come across another alcohol-free one sometime.

xoxo,
Swati
