TheBalm Batter Up Eyeshadow Sticks

When it comes to baking, I haven't been able to get it quite right yet...this area is strictly Smriti's forte. So "battering up" anything isn't something I do willingly...it could potentially end in a diaster (except perhaps pancakes!)
While I do aspire to be an awsome baker one day, when it comes to anything batter related, I like to stick to theBalm Batter Up Eyeshadow Sticks, which in my humble opinion are not talked about as much (at least in India) as they need to!

So far I have loved every product I have tried from theBalm. Their Mary Lou-Manizer is one of my most loved highlighters. I equally love the Bahama Mama bronzer. So, when I wanted to try finally add some eyeshadow sticks (given how much people recommend to have one in the stash) and I chanced upon the Batter Up sticks, I just had to give them a shot!

Now, I haven't tried any other eyeshadow crayon before, but I can safely say that these are pretty darn good!
I went for the 2 neutral colors which I would get the most use out of (even on an everyday basis) - Shutout & Dugout.

The packaging is lovely (including the outer baseball themed one, which I have thrown away unfortunately..but look it up on google)
The stick itself is a twist up one - which is fabulous, since I am super lazy and hate sharpening such things...oh and less product wastage.

It glides on so smoothly over the lids (like creamy butter!!) without any tugging/pulling. The pigmentation is just lovely. One swipe gives a good enough color and you can always make it more intense with a couple of more swipes.
Once applied, you get a good enough time to blend it before it sets to a smudge proof - budge proof - crease proof finish. I get a whole day of wear out of these.

Shutout is a cool toned golden bronzy color with a shimmer finish.

Dugout is a warm toned chocolate brown with a shimmer finish.

Now, before you get alarmaed, the shimmer isn't chunky or glittery. It is more of a soft sheen shimmer which looks lovely. Both these shades will suit Indian skin tones really well and can be used for everyday wear and well as on special occassions. You can apply it lightly and smudge it out for a more natural look or can build these up to full intensity.

I love the Batter Up sticks! In case you could't figure that out already. Frankly, I do not know why it took me so long to try eyeshadow sticks! They are so easy to use and perfect for when you are in a rush - 30 seconds people, that all it takes to get your eyes done! You can use a single color all over your lids or blend in a couple of these to create more looks. You can wear it as a subtle wash of color or a more bold look! And they are so travel friendly
Bottom line - you cannot go wrong with these!

Oh and since I am loving these 2 so much....Pitch Hitter, Slugger and Outfield are on my list next! Can you blame me?!

xoxo,
Swati
