The Body Shop Shea Body Butter : Review

Body butters were something that were lacking in my skin care collection. Being a dry skinned girl, this was scandalous! So this winter, I finally decided to make up for it and got Swati to send this body butter to me :)
And believe me when I say it's heaven in a jar!
All TBS products we have tried so far have left us pretty pleased, and the Shea body butter definitely blew me away by the results it produced on my skin :)
The body butter comes packed in a plastic tub with a screw-on cap. Although I would've loved a more luxurious packaging, I don't mind this no-nonsense one much. The cap screws on tightly. Swati parceled it across many miles and there was not the slightest mess when I received it. Very happy about that, I was!
The Shea body butter has the most wonderfully nutty smell! Delightfully warm and comforting, once you've applied it, it feels like being enveloped in a blanket of goodness and care. The fragrance is strong in the tub, but mellows out on the skin. For me, this is a very winter/cozy night-time scent, and it really did set the mood for sleep. Now sleep and me are quite chummy, so I love this butter for just that :)
The product is an opaque white cream, and has a soft to slightly hard texture. You can't just glide your fingers across it, you have to scoop the butter out. This is quite different in texture from the Blueberry Body Butter. It spreads smoothly on the skin and needs some strokes to rub it in.
I usually slather it on before sleeping, and it sinks into my skin within a couple of minutes. On my dry skin, it doesn't leave an oily residue behind. I can see an immediate change in how my skin looks - moisturized and shiny. I imagine my cells becoming all plump-plump after getting a dose of this rich body butter.
Continuous use will leave your skin soft and healthy, a difference you can actually see and feel. This isn't a product that gives results only as long as it's there on your body. TBS Shea Body Butter does more than that. In my opinion, it meets your skin moisture needs, and prevents a parched look that all dry-skinned girls are familiar with.
