The Body Shop Banana Shampoo & Conditioner : Review

Written by: Swati on:

Normally I haven't done many shampoo reviews here. It is so because, most of them just work okay. They do what they have to do and that is it.
But every once in a while, there comes a shampoo that exceeds your expectations and which is when I need to let you all know about it.

I had heard many good things about The Body Shop Banana hair range and finally I gave in and tried the shampoo and conditioner.

I have been using this duo for the last month and I have been loving them!

The bottles are stiff transparent plastic with a flip top. They look nice, but it is a hassle to use them in the shower, especially once you see that the conditioner is super thick. With their consistencies, a squeezy tube would have been more apt.

Both the products are dull yellow and so incredibly yummy smelling! I love the fragrance, it is like a sweet banana smoothie in the shower! The consistency of the shampoo is thinner compared to the conditioner which is a relief (it really is a pain to get the conditioner out, especially when you are over half bottle down)

"A beauty classic returns. This shampoo gently cleanses hair, leaving it beautifully shiny. It contains real banana puree and smells good enough to eat.

The shampoo lathers well though it takes a little more effort than normal to work the product into the hair. It cleanses the hair extremely well and does not leave any residues/product buildup behind. It is not rough on the hair and leaves my hair feeling moderately soft.
I have almsot straight hair, which normally lies a bit flat and this shampoo gives my hair a lot of volume! So a big big Yaay!

According to me the shampoo might work better for people with oily hair. A friend of mine has curly slightly dry hair and the shampoo did not work for her at all.

Coming to the conditioner, which is the star for me. It just leaves my hair feeling so soft and gives a good shine as well, without the heavy feeling and without taking away the volume. Unlike the shampoo, the conditoner might work for other hair types too.

It worked nicely with the Banana shampoo, but somehow, it worked even better with the Tresemme shampoo I am currently trying out!! I am in love with this conditioner! 5/5 for this one.

Overall, I am quite happy with this range. These have to be the yummiest smelling hair products I have ever used.
The shampoo gives a decent volume to my hair but it is the conditioner left me super impressed. It works well with most of the other shampoos and makes my hair soft and shiny.
The range might not work for drier/voluminous hair but if you have an oily scalp with limp-ish hair, it will work well!
I might not be repurchasing the shampoo, but the conditioner will definitely be bought asap!
Do give them a try :)
