Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser

My first product from Pixi Beauty was the Glow Tonic. I had shared my thoughts on it a year ago - full review HERE and I still love it just as much.
The next product that I tried was the Glow Mud Cleanser. I have been using it on and off for a year and here's what I think :
Brand Claims:
• A deep pore cleansing mud, enriched with 5% Glycolic and soothing botanicals.
• Formulated to provide effective cleansing, yet is mild enough for all skin.
• Complexion is cleansed and gently exfoliated to reveal radiant and healthy skin.
• Deep pore cleansing leaving skin clean and glowing.
• Gently exfoliates and revitalises.
• Suitable for all skin types
• Paraben-free
• Not tested on animals
The product is smooth & creamy, medium thick in consistency. It comes in a flip top tube. The cleanser does not create any foam or lather.
For reference : My skin is combination, slightly sensitive and prone to acne/breakouts.
To me, this is a 2 in 1 product - a cleanser + mild chemical exfoliant since it contains 5% glycolic acid. I used to feel a mild tingling sensation with this initially (it did not hurt).
I use this cleanser 2-3 times a week (not more) in the evening. If I am wearing makeup then this becomes my 2nd cleanse after removing the makeup products. If I am not wearing any makeup, I use it alone. I take a couple of minutes to massage it on dry skin and let the glycolic acid do the job. You can even leave it on for a few minutes like a quick mask and then cleanse your skin.
Do keep in mind that you cannot and should not use it around the eyes.
The product washes off easily and leaves my skin feeling really clean - almost like all the dead skin has been knocked off and the skin has been thoroughly cleansed.
In spite of this, I do not find the cleanser to be harsh. It feels gentle enough and does not leave my skin feeling dry or stretchy.
You might not see an instant visible effect but it does help to make the skin smooth and soft. I saw a difference over time. The glycolic acid helps to exfoliate dead skin & dry patches, improve skin texture and also helps with brightening the skin a bit.

Like with any acid-based product, it is important not to overuse it. I limit this cleanser to 2-3 times a week so that my skin does not become over sensitized. I also do not use any other acid-based products on the day I use this cleanser, just to be safe.
I do like this cleanser overall, it works well and I haven't faced any issues with it. However, if I had to choose between this and the Glow Tonic, I would go for the latter. (The cleanser gets washed off in a few minutes and I like that the glow tonic remains on my skin for longer.)
