Pixi Glow Tonic

If you follow British beauty bloggers, Caroline Hirons particularly (gosh, I love her!), you've probably seen the Pixi Glow Tonic talked about plenty of times. It's up there in almost all favourites, everyone recommends it and simply put it made every skincare enthusiast go "ga-ga". And with good reason! I mean, come on....it is called GLOW TONIC!

The skincare junkie in me couldn't wait for much longer, could she? It's a shame Pixi Skintreats isn't avaiable in India yet (Why?!Oh why?!), but there are plenty of websites/online sellers from whom you can get a hold of this golden liquid.

Before I talk about the Glow Tonic any further, know this : IT IS AN EXFOLIATING TONER with 5% GLYCOLIC ACID.

I quite like the no nonsense simple bottle it comes in. There are different sizes available (15ml, 100ml, 250ml), so like me you can get hold of a smaller bottle to try out.

Ingredients :

Water/Aqua/Eau, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Glycolic Acid, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Sodium Hydroxide, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Extract, Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) Seed Extract, Hexylene Glycol, Fructose, Glucose, Sucrose, Urea, Dextrin, Alanine, Glutamic Acid, Aspartic Acid, Hexyl Nicotinate, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Biotin, Panthenol, PPG-26-Buteth-26, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance (Parfum), Caramel, Red 4 (CI 14700). 250ml/ 8.5 fl. oz.

I like how Aloe, Glycolic acid, Witchazel are all up in ingredient list.
(I have become increasingly aware of always reading the ingredient list & the order of things. The higher up an ingredient in the list, the greater the percentage present in the product).

What Pixi says:

• Exfoliates and purifies the skin with Glycolic Acid
• Ginseng improves circulation and energizes
• Aloe vera soothes and hydrates
• Refines the appearance of pores
• Gently accelerates cell renewal to reveal a brighter, glowing complexion
• Balances, heals and soothes for radiant, healthier looking skin
• Alcohol free
• Suitable for all skin types
• Not tested on animals

• Step 1: Cleanse your face
• Step 2: Saturate a cotton pad with the Glow Tonic and sweep across face, neck and d├ęcolletage (avoiding eye area)
• Step 3: Follow with the a serum or moisturizer

I generally use it at night around 2-3 times a week (or depending on how my skin is feeling like)I have not experienced any stinging/burning with the product

Glycolic acid truly works wonders. It just loosens all the dead skin thus exfoliating. It also helps with reducing pigmentation & dark spots. I generally wake up to a smoother, softer & brighter skin the next morning.
Keep in mind that you need to wear sunscreen everyday...religiously since this is an AHA exfoliating product.

 Price : 18$ for 250ml
            10$ for 100ml
            5$ for 15ml

If you are looking for a product that can take care of dullness & uneven texture and add a healthy glow then the Glow Tonic is worth checking out
The tonic is quite gentle & alcohol free so it is suited for all skin types. But, if you have extremely extremely sensitive skin & glycolic acid has not worked out for you in the past, just tread with some caution and do a patch test

P.S They have more products in the Glow Tonic range - cleanser, serum,  tonic-to-go pads, glow peel pads.....aaah! I need them all! Let's hope Pixi comes to India someday soon! *fingers crossed*

xoxo,
Swati
