This is Part 2 of the tag I got from Supria of Sushy Loves Blush. (You can read Part 1 HERE which talks about best makeup produts I tried in 2013). Time to share skincare now! Finding out your most amazing finds of this year is such an interesting thing to do. You reflect on all the products used and it is quite confusing picking out just two products when you have good experiences with quite a few more. But if I had to pick put just two from my stash they have got to be :
What are your plans for the day?
Wishing you all a magical and delightful Christmas filled with joy and laughter! Have a great day! (I better go sleep..I don't want looking like a zombie tomorrow :D)
Lots of love!
I was tagged a few days back by the gorgeous Supria of Sushy Loves Blush to do this very interesting post of our most amazing finds of the year (makeup, skincare etc etc). Thank you Supriya!! :)
So here goes the first post - Makeup! I had a tough time (read 2 nights) deciding my best makeup find this year. Yes, I don't have one kind of product mainly because all these years when it came to make-up I was all about the eyes..Yes.Always. I never gave much attention to the other areas and this year I finally realised what I was missing out on. Tch!
Anyway here are my picks:

Anyway here are my picks:
I have already shared some of my favourite Christmas Manicures HERE in my last post. And these are some others too that I liked quite a lot. Take a look!
1) The Christmas French Manicure:
I am a big fan of the french manicure! And if you aren't confortable to sport super bright colourful nails, then giving a Christmas-y twist to a french mani might just work out for you!
It is the holiday season finally! I just can't wait for the festivites to begin! (Smriti is coming home and so are some relatives.. it will be so much fun!) Aren't you excited for Christmas and the New year too?
So, embracing the holiday spirit I flaunted some nail art over the last few weeks.. Now I am not a pro (there were some fabulous ones I just couldn't do..), but I did find some designs which were not that difficult.
Here are a few which I loved:
1) Candy Cane Mani:
If you like nail art and it's Christmas, you just have to try candy cane nails! It's quick, simple and cute. You can vary the thickness of the stripes. I used a white base and did red stripes (you can do the opposite too). Let the coats dry else you will end up with pink instead of white. Add some silver for some sublte bling.
It's getting so cold finally and one of the best things about winter is that you get to have big bowls of soup to keep yourself warm and cozy....one comfort food that usually comes in the healthy category. I know we have all kinds of ready to eat soups available these days and frankly, yes those are such a time saver...but they are in no way better than ones made at home. Here's a recipe for a super easy tomato soup (there are lots of variations, but I like this the best because I have grown up drinking it!). It won't take you long to make & will taste absolutely yummy despite being simple!
Here is the last Elle18 Color Pops Lipstick shade I have in my stash. Pink Pout and Cinnamon Bun have already been put up, so do check them out.
Do we all agree that the Lakme Lip Love Lipsticks are really great to look at? The shiny red packaging with a shiny sliver heart and LOVE engraved on the lipstick bullet...it looks like candy! I haven't tried the lipsticks from this range yet (I had my eye on Love Haze and Aphrodite Blush..only I know how I have resisted them so far) but I have the Lip Conditioner in Charmer which I really love.
Anyway, coming to the point...Here are the swatches of the newly launced 7 shades. A collection of brights rather than neutrals or browns. Take a look:
My HG sunscreen is the Lotus Herbals 3 in 1 Matte Look Sunblock. It just suits my skin so so perfectly and I am in love with it. But there are those weird days sometimes (especially in winters) when my skin feels somewhat dry. And on those days the Fabindia Vitamin E sunscreen comes to my rescue.
This review should have been up a long time ago...! Firstly, I have now hit pan on this and secondly (most importantly) Lakme has renamed it. It is now known as Perfect Radiance Intense Whitening Compact. I haven't tried the new one yet. I have sampled them at the counter many times (planning to give it a try soon). So here is a quick summary on this one.
You already know that I am loving colour blocking these days (hey..it's never too late to follow a trend!). So what should one do to a 4 day old manicure that is wearing at the edges? Give yourself a colour blocking manicure of course! You get away without removing the old polish and it saves you time! Seeee! Smart and easy isn't it? Plus you get to flaunt some fancy nails! :) Win Win!
Who doesn't like colour blocking? You know it looks pretty fantanstic, wherever you use it. So why not use the trend to add some zing to your space? And I am not talking about a big time consuming project, just take out 10 minutes and make yourself a pretty thing, with stuff lying around the house :)
