While my hair is relatively well behaved, my oily scalp gives me problems from time to time. Due to the nature of my work (I need to wear head caps often) and the hot humid climate India has most of the year, my scalp gets itchy and flaky, especially during the monsoons. I also get mild dandruff sometimes, mostly during the winter months. Which is why I like to keep an anti-dandruff shampoo in my hair care stash....coz I never know when I will need it. I tried the Selsun Selenium Sulfide Shampoo a few months back and it has been working extremely well.
Ever since I really got into K-beauty 2 years back, I have started exploring the wonderful world of essences. I am late to the party I know but better late than never! I feel that essence was the missing step from my routine and I love using one. Why do I like essences so much? They provide the hydration I need without being heavy and most of them are packed with amazing ingredients.
Take the Purito Fermented Complex 94 Boosting Essence, for example, I have been using it for about 4½ months now and the third essence I have tried so far. I stopped using it for a few weeks in between since it got way too hot and humid here but picked it back again recently. And I am finally sure how I feel about it. Read on :)
Let me begin the post by saying that I love using face masks. Ingredients like haldi (turmeric), chandan (sandalwood), multani mitti (fuller's earth), besan (gram flour), to name a few, have been a part of my skincare since my teenage years...at a time when I literally did nothing else in the name of skincare except applying a homemade ubtan 1-2 times a week. Tch! My routine has thankfully evolved with time, knowledge and a better understanding of what works for my skin, but I still love my weekly masking! Of course, they don't replace my skincare products but the experience of putting on a mask is something I look forward to.
When I went to college, it became quite difficult to whip up my homemade masks (it was difficult to source fresh ingredients and well, I admit that I also got lazy). So, I looked into premade masks and powders and found a few gems. The Kama Ayurveda Nimrah Face Pack was one such product.
I used this mask a lot during my college days and have mentioned it several times on the blog, but never got around to writing a detailed post on it. Let me share my thoughts & experience today :)
Hello everyone! I am back with another shampoo review today - the Marrakesh Nourish Shampoo Original variant. I gave it a go a few months back and it featured in my July 2021 empties here.
Do you remember the time I shared my 2020 Skincare Favourites? It had featured the Shesha Ayurveda White Kasturi Manjal/Musk Turmeric (20% off with code SWATI) and I had promised I would talk about it in detail soon. Last week I realized that 2021 is close to being over....it would be shameful if I didn't get this post up before that. So here I am talking about one of my favourite finds of 2020. Read on!
I tried the much loved & raved about Plum Olive & Macadamia Mega Moisturizing Hair Mask recently. I have not explored much from the brand yet, the one thing I did try was their Green tea face mask which is a good one for oily skin and I have spoken about it on the blog earlier. I know it's pretty late to talk about the mask, it's not a new launch, but let's do it anyway.
