Plum Olive & Macadamia Mega Moisturizing Hair Mask

I tried the much loved & raved about Plum Olive & Macadamia Mega Moisturizing Hair Mask recently. I have not explored much from the brand yet, the one thing I did try was their Green tea face mask which is a good one for oily skin and I have spoken about it on the blog earlier. I know it's pretty late to talk about the mask, it's not a new launch, but let's do it anyway.
A treat and not just a deep conditioning treatment, for your hair. Deep moisturizing, nourishing hair mask made with love from olive oil, macadamia oil, shea butter and loads of other do-gooders for stressed-out tresses. This silicone-free hair mask moisturizes, softens and deep-nourishes chemically-treated, damaged, dry and dull hair. Use once or twice a week for hair that feels, and truly is, healthier, softer, and shinier!

How to use : Gently wring out excess water from wet or shampooed hair. Take the required amount of mask in the palm and apply generously to hair, focusing on the ends. Try and apply to as many individual strands as possible. Put on a shower cap or wrap a towel and leave on for about 20 minutes (the longer the better) and rinse thoroughly. Gently pat dry with towel and style as desired.
The full-sized mask comes in a standard plastic tub with a screw-on cap. I had 2 deluxe sample tubes of the mask which gave me 2 uses (I have medium-long hair). Since I have not used the mask for a long time, this is a first impression post.
It is a thick cream mask with a mild fragrance. I did not particularly like the scent, but it wasn't strong and doesn't linger for days.
Spreadability was a little problematic since the consistency was thick, I felt I was using more product to make sure that all the strands were covered well. Post rinse and drying, my hair felt softer (at least as soft as I like it to be) which was good. However, the mask did not impart much shine or slip/smoothness, which was a little disappointing (maybe it fell short because it doesn't have silicones?)
* A thing to keep in mind is that you should keep the mask in for 20 minutes as directed by the brand to get optimum results (the first time I got impatient and did not keep it long enough, I did not get a good enough result then). The problem is, I usually do not have the patience to put on a mask post-wash and wait for this long, then rinse and get on with things....it is a little bit inconvenient for me and I need to make sure I am not in a rush (I have more time now courtesy the pandemic, but I won't have that permanently).
Price : 675 INR for 250g ( available here - code SWATI15 gives you a 15% discount on the entire Plum website)
It was a decent mask overall. It wasn't bad, but it was extraordinary either. It surely moisturized my hair and made it soft but I would have liked it more if it would have added some shine as well. Now, I am not particular about sulphates or silicones etc in my hair products. I actually like silicone because it provides slip and smoothness and that helps to prevent my fine hair from getting tangled. So I might not be getting a full size.
That being said if you prefer your hair care products to be silicone-free & sulphate-free and want something that isn't too expensive, then here's a mask you can consider trying out.
