As autumn glides out of the cycle of seasons gracefully giving way to Winter, I cannot help but sigh with relief! In my city, this is the best time of the year; the mornings are cozy and the evenings are cool. No longer does the Sun shine blindingly and roast us all!

So now is the perfect time to bring out my de-tan goodies, don't you think? A little bit of help in recovering my original complexion is always appreciated and that's why I bought myself this ubtan.

I finally gave in to temptation a few months back and got the L'Occitane Almond Shower Oil as a treat to myself. Heads up - It is amazing!

The first time I sniffed it my brain could only say - Oh Boy! Where have I been all these years!
FYI - I am not a huge fan of almond smelling products, but this to me is joy in a bottle!

It is super crazy October onwards every year. The festivals start back to back...and then wedding season hits in full swing! Not that I am complaining, I get to reach out for my makeup way more! Trying out new looks and colors is super fun.
But there are always certain products that I reach out to more than the others. They never fail me and considering that I am usually always short of time these help me look dressed up in a jiffy.
I have shared my makeup favourites before too (check them out here), but it has been a while and things have changed a bit since then.

This year I thought of sharing makeup +skincare with you all. Take a look into my picks for this season!

Everyone who is into the world of beauty and makeup has heard about MAC. For the longest time, it was (and still is to some extent) a candy shop for us beauty enthusiasts. I get overjoyed every time I even pass by the store, just by seeing all the pretty things on display.
Unfortunately, even after being into beauty blogging for over 6 years now... I had never really explored the brand. Of course, I have a few products already (MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural & a few of their lipsticks) and I love all of them!

It was time to rectify the situation and a few weeks back I walked into a MAC store and after about spending 3 hours in there (gosh... what amazing 3 hours they were) trying out and swatching almost everything...I walked out with a small package and couldn't stop grinning till about 2 days after! :D

Most of these products are also available online HERE.

Take a peek into what I picked:

Hello there! I am back with some more sheet masks today for you.
I am a bit of a sheet mask fan...while I am writing this post, I have about 15 more sitting in my stash. And while I have tried many - Innisfree, Face Shop, Dear Packer and have found a couple I like, when Forest Essentials launced their sheet masks, I couldn't stop myself from getting them!

Forest Essentials Ayurvedic Sheet Mask review, Forest Essentials Tejasvi sheet mask review, Forest Essentials sundari sheet mask review

Why? Well firstly, I like most of their products. And secondly the "ayurvedic" tag. Now, before I start talking about them, you should know that these are way more pricey than the other regular sheet masks out there. I was certainly not expecting them to be priced so much and was very disappointed with it. I wanted to try out all 3 varaints, but keeping the price in mind I settled down with 2 to try first - Tejasvi and Sundari

Hi all!

As you all know, Swati has always always been a fan of good brows. Me? I jumped onto the bandwagon a little late; never could figure out what all the fuss was about!

For the longest time, I could not be parted from my Freedom Makeup Duo Brow Powder. I really liked how it softly defined my brows and was quick to apply. Then Swati introduced me to NYX tinted brow mascara, and I found love again! However, these two products don't work well together (my brows end up looking too dark), so once I knew what a difference setting the brow hairs into place could make, I was on the hunt for an affordable option.

And that's when I purchased this little tube of clear gel 😁

Quite a while back I ran out of my beloved Neutrogena hand cream. Like always I love testing out new products so that I can suggest the best to you guys whenever possible. Since the Neutrogena one is a bit pricey, I decided to try out the Aroma Magic Hand cream and their Foot cream too. These were priced so well and what's better than an inexpensive product that works well, yes?

I had never been much of an eyeshadow person back in the day, but somehow I have been gravitating towards them more and more. My eyeshadow collection is fairly good at the moment (small for a beauty blogger, but substantial for a person). Of course there are many more shadows on my wishlist (which keeps growing to my dismay) but at the moment I am quite happy with those in my stash.

A recent addition was the Huda Beauty Smokey Obessions palette (which recently got available on Nykaa! About time!). The Desert Dusk palette was available since quite a while. Though I was extremely tempted to get, I didn't give in coz -  (a) the price! (b) I don't think I would need so many shades (c) size of the palette

So, when the obessions palette were finally made available, I had to pick one! My inclination initially was towards the warm one, but I already had the NYX Warm Neutrals (more about that one soon! promise!), so I went with the Smokey one - and I am so glad!

I've slowly grown to become a perfume addict. I'm going to blame the city weather, hot and humid all year round, that makes me a miserable sweaty human. With 8 hours of running around in the hospital, sans A/C FYI, I need all the help that a fragrant spritz can provide me with!

And it so happens that I've got the perfect solution; a splash of freshness to rejuvenate your senses, Chic, my all time favourite budget summer fragrance (repurchase guaranteed)!

When it comes to baking, I haven't been able to get it quite right yet...this area is strictly Smriti's forte. So "battering up" anything isn't something I do willingly...it could potentially end in a diaster (except perhaps pancakes!)
While I do aspire to be an awsome baker one day, when it comes to anything batter related, I like to stick to theBalm Batter Up Eyeshadow Sticks, which in my humble opinion are not talked about as much (at least in India) as they need to!

TheBalm Batter Up Eyeshadow Sticks review, TheBalm Batter Up Eyeshadow Sticks india, TheBalm Batter Up Eyeshadow Stick shutout, TheBalm Batter Up Eyeshadow Stick dugout

So far I have loved every product I have tried from theBalm. Their Mary Lou-Manizer is one of my most loved highlighters. I equally love the Bahama Mama bronzer. So, when I wanted to try finally add some eyeshadow sticks (given how much people recommend to have one in the stash) and I chanced upon the Batter Up sticks, I just had to give them a shot!

Oh boy! It feels so good to be back to blogging! It has been almost a month now & we had taken a break from the posts, but I missed this so much. I love sharing my thoughts on products with you guys and I love the world of beauty!
Anyway, cutting short the chatter, let's dig in straight to the point, shall we?

We are starting a new series on the blog "Brand in Focus". By no means is this our innovative idea, a lot of bloggers have done it in the past. But, I was going through my stash (mini clearout) a few weeks back & realized that often I tend to stick to certain brands - courtesy their wonderful products and well, non irritation/ no reactions on my otherwise sensitive skin.
So, Every once in a while, we will be talking one such brand. Our love for it and our top picks from it. Hope this series will be of some help to all of you :)

A brand that forms a good part of my skincare routine is - Kiehls.
I discovered them way back around 2015 maybe and over the years a few more gems have found their way in my stash! Of course I haven't tried all their products (I certainly want to someday!) but currently I have around 6 products (3 all time faves and 3 under testing- more on those later).

We at C&D love highlighters! Smriti of course has a bit more affection towards them than me, but I love them too. Perfect to add a bit on glow to your skin and make it look fabulous, a good hihlighter is a must in every makeup stash!

I always found that there was a lack of good powder highlighters in the Indian drugstore, most of them being chalky or too glittery... which is why for a long time my go to highlighter was theBalm Mary Lou-Manizer (reviewed here). I still love it a lot and it will be a part of stash for years to come, but it is difficult to recommend it to people, especially if they are on a budget.

Naturally, I was very excited when Maybelline launched their Master Chrome highlighter here, having read good reviews about it already. Let's take a look, shall we?

I have tried a fair share of products over the years. A lot of them did not work out for me, a few did okay and some just blew my mind! While I was very much focused on makeup back in my college days, skincare has become a new passion for me and has become a top priority. How I wish I had realized this earlier and paid more attention to skincare while growing up. Better late than never though!

Masks have always been an all time staple in my skincare routine. I used many simple homemade ones back in the day, but college time onwards I got more used to the boxed ones. I still use the DIYs but love these ready to use one too.

Here are a few of my current favourites! Take a look!

If you love beauty, you must be aware of Violette and her debut collection with Estee Lauder-Poppy Sauvage!

We love Violette (a french makeup artist) for her classic Parisian style and easy tutorials. Her sophisticated but effortless style to beauty and makeup is exactly what we like. We love the way she experiments with makeup looks - touch of glitter, bold lip, dark eyes...everything is covered. But in a lovely wearable way! Always some "Va-Va-Voom" like she says! It is no wonder that her collection was right up our street!

I'm so happy!

We're finally at a place where women are beginning to accept themselves for who they are, celebrating their flaws, being the best version of themselves, taking the world by storm.

Every day I feel this change within myself. I'm using less makeup, and being more, well... me. Easy, effortless, imperfect. Throw in a little Va va voom and you've got yourself a really good thing!

Estee lauder Poppy Sauvage Collection review, Estee Lauder by Violette Poppy Sauvage collection, Estee Lauder Poppy Sauvage collection india

And that's precisely what Violette embodies. A self-taught French makeup artist, now Estée Lauder's global beauty director (much deserved!) she is a mighty ripple in the makeup industry, teaching women how to look polished, but with an air of delicate nonchalance.

Estee lauder Poppy Sauvage Collection review, Estee Lauder by Violette Poppy Sauvage collection, Estee Lauder Poppy Sauvage collection india

Poppy Sauvage is her debut collection, inspired by her memories of French poppy fields, morning dew on petals, and golden wheat fields turning copper in the sunset. I love how the entire collection evokes such powerful imagery with its hues, and also, is so versatile!

I am a lazy bum when it comes to going to a salon...which means I don't go in for a facial/cleanup. Most of my skincare needs and requirements are taken care of at home, which also means I have a small army of products that help me target specific issues.

When it comes to the issue of clogged pores/whiteheads/blackheads I was previously using the Innisfree Supervolcanic Pore Clay Mask but I wasn't 100% satisfied with it. It was definitely good for the price, but I wanted something better (skincare enthusiast issues). After looking around I decided to give the much-hyped Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment a go. Thankfully there is a smaller size available which one can try out before investing in the full size (this product is expensive!). I have used it a few times on myself and on 2 other people who are quite prone to blackheads and here's what I think:

Once the dust has settled down, and once the actual early adopters of the world have played around with it, a much clearer picture of the One Plus 6 begins to emerge. We’ve had the latest iteration of the OnePlus phones (the flagship killers) for about a week now, and we pretty much have nothing but good things to say about it. And this has been true for pretty much all the OnePlus phones we have ever seen or used. And we’ve used a few, which even till today, are fairly relevant (the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 5 for example).
One Plus 6 review, One Plus 6 india, One Plus 6 india review, One Plus 6 blog review

Now to get the preliminaries sorted out, we’ve had the OnePlus 6, 128 GB, Mirror Black finish model since the date of launch. And we’ve put it through most daily tasks, browsing, watching Youtube Videos, taking photographs, booking Olas/Ubers and also as an actual phone to talk to people. Pretty much the only thing that it hasn’t been used for is heavy gaming, despite there being a specific gaming mode. Let’s be honest, we’re casual users, but like to know that we have enough power in the tank for more if need be.
All right, the preliminaries are over- On to the phone!

For the past few months I have been really enjoying products from Forest Essentials. This brand isn't new to me, no, I had a couple of their products in my stash and like them a lot (Narangi and Nagkesar Ubtan, Light Hydrating Eye Gel, Sweet Narangi Lip Balm).
The last couple of months saw me dig a little more into their products and here are my thoughts about them. You can check out/buy these products online here.

Pumpkin - a vegetable I have never been able to take a liking to. There's just something about it which makes me feel ewww-ish. But what smells like pumpkin (with hints of cinnamon) that I can never say no to? The Peter Thomas Roth Pumpkin Enzyme Mask Dermal Resurfacer! That's a mouthful isn't it? But boy, oh boy! This mask is all kinds of amazing! It is really, really the next level of masks!

When it comes to masks, the market is flooded with clarifying mud masks, hydrating masks, cleansing masks, detoxifying masks... you name the concern and there is a mask out there for it. But not that many which claim to exfoliate and resurface the skin. Which is why I like love the PTR Pumpkin Enzyme Mask. It resurfaces, exfoliates, peels and polishes all in 1! Sounds great, right? It is!

It has been quite a since I shared a nail polish here on the blog. Well, I hadn't picked any new ones for a while so that is one of the reasons, and secondly, I was keeping my nails bare off late.

Anyway, one of my favourite nude-y colours to wear was the Maybelline Superstay Gel Polish in Rose Poudre (swatched here). And like all things that I like, it had to be discontinued. I have been looking for a new bottle everywhere and I just cannot find it. So I had to find a replacement of course and the OPI Tickle My France-y caught my attention!

One of the launches from Bobbi Brown that I was super excited about was the Crushed Lip Colors. The way they were described was dreamy and I couldn't wait to give them a try! It is said to be inspired by the effortless and easy beauty routines of the brand’s girl crushes. Undone beauty, just a hint of lip colour, effortless barely-there makeup look? Yeah, I’m sold!
Finally, after some wait, I got my hands on 2 shades (after a lot of contemplation and resisting picking up 4 more!). Take a look...

If I am not wrong, I have only started to use eye creams religiously over the past 1 1/2 years. The previous occasional 1-2 times a week does not really count.
Fast forward now, I WILL apply an eye cream every morning and night. Without fail (except for a rare late night, when I have been found guilty of skipping it only to regret it next morning).

I have been experiencing quite dry skin around my eyes lately ...to the point that the dry skin causes constant irritation = very frequent rubbing = frictional darkness...well, that's my assumption.
So I was on a pursuit to find a richer eye cream and I finally picked up the Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment.

You know my love for skincare by now (I hope). I like to give new products which sound prominsing a try and I am always on a quest to find better products that deliver better. When Dr Sheth's came out with their range of products, I had to try them out! Especially after seeing people talk a lot about how good they are....

I started with the Basic Brightening Youth Glotion (as I was on the lookout of a daily moisturizer then) and shortly after, added the Basic Brightening Daily Cleanser and Extra Gentle Daily Peel to the stash too. It has been over a month of using these products and it is time I shared my thoughts with you all.

If you have been following me on Instagram, you must be aware of my new love for Forest Essentials. Not that I did not like the brand before, I had a couple of items in my stash, but over the past couple of months, that number has increased a lot! My love for skincare is growing each day (read - turning into an obsession), and with that I am trying out for better products everytime.

When it comes to skincare, serums are one of my favourites. I was using a night one, but needed a good one for the day as well. I previously tried the Innisfree Green Tea serum, which sadly did not do anything much for me (I know a lot of you like it though, so don't hate me for saying this). And then Forest Essentials launched their new Rasa Activating Serum which sounded lovely. Of course I had to give it a shot!

I do not use much makeup on an everyday basis. The days when I do use makeup, I tend to skip foundation/bb/cc creams. Yeah, I am not too much into base makeup...yet. But the one thing I do like using is primer (that is on days I do reach out for some makeup). For the longest time my go-to/favourite primer was, and still is (for different purposes which I shall talk about a little later) the L'oreal Base Magique.
A few months back (blame YouTube!) I got very curious about the new Smashbox Primerizer.... primeri..what? You see it is a primer + moisturizer 2-in-1. Get it now?

Hello all!

It has been such a long time since I posted here. I know you all must be wondering what happened to our regular posting schedule. We were a bit caught up in some personal matters and work had been quite demanding as usual. Apologies for not being able to keep up with the blog. But we are back now and hopefully will be getting back to our blog routine soon.

Today I am sharing some new fragrances I have added to my stash! Take a look at what I got :)

Hello hello!

Long time no see. I'm really sorry for that, I was caught up in such a whirlwind of events that for a short while blogging took the back seat. Alright now, I'm back with a hope to be more consistent in the coming months so you'll probably see more of me here!

And with that, let's jump into today's superstar- the NYX dark circle concealer, my saviour for tired looking eyes.

Before TBS came out with the Fuji Green Tea Hair Scrub, I had no idea that there was a world of hair scrubs. I had never used any, read about any nor used any. The closest thing to a hair scrub I used was the Nioxin Hair Treatment I had experienced a few years back which used a liquid to exfoliate the scalp - read about it HERE.

So when this hair scrub was launched I was very excited to try it out. My scalp tends to get oily quickly and I also experience occasional itching, so I thought that this would work well fo me.

Most of us follow our usual CTM routine, but exfoliation is also a very important step that a lot of us tend to forget.

Last year ie 2017 I shifted mostly towards chemical exfoliation (due to a bout of active acne), and while I still love the process, I like to use a physical exfoliant some days too. Keeping both options in the stash is always good....and I pick one depending on how my skin feels.

I had heard some good things about the Forest Essentials Organic Fruit Scrub so after a lot of thought (this thing is expensive afterall !!) I finally picked it up. I have been using it for over 2 months now and here is what I think.

"Vicco Turmeric...Nahi Cosmetic!"

How awesome is that jingle?! If you are a kid from the last decade then you know what I am talking about...if you aren't then you might want to head over to YouTube and look for this one. The way this jingle is still stuck in my head is amazing. I remember every word of it and still fondly hum it some days 😀
Smriti and I do quite a fantastic duet of it, if you'd like to hear it anytime, drop us a comment!

I am sure most of us at some point have used the good old Vicco Turmeric cream. And now Vicco brings to you their Vicco Turmeric Skin Cream In Oil Base to take care of your body and face. It claims to moisturize, nourish and protect the skin and leaves you with even toned beautiful skin. It also prevents and cures skin infections, boils, wounds, and burns.

We have been trying it for the past week and here's what we think! Read on to get the scoop on Vicco Turmeric Skin Cream In Oil Base…
