Keep Cool and Soothe Phyto Greenpair Cream

Hi all, Smriti here! If you've been following my skin journey, you'll know that it hit its lowest point a year ago. Thanks to some hormonal upheavals, I suddenly found myself at the threshold of comedones and cystic acne despite my dry skin. Not only did that bring about a huge change in my appreciation for healthy skin, it also saw my entire skincare stash being revamped.

Now that I have a multitude of products that are soothing, calming, healing and the like, I'd like to share my experience with them with the hope that it can help you achieve happier skin yourself!
A few weeks back, I reviewed the Skin & Lab Medicica Cream and you might wonder why I have another cica cream to talk about so soon. Well, they both might share a common ingredient but that's where the similarity ends. The Keep Cool and Soothe Phyto Greenpair cream serves another purpose with its ingredients, read on to know why!

What the brand says : Soothe Phyto Greenpair cream is infused with Centella Asiatica harvested from Jeju Island, as well as Keep Cool's signature Cool Keeper blend extract that targets to calm irritated skin instantly. This fragrance-free and fast-absorbing moisturizer is perfect for sensitive skin. It revitalizes skin from all external stressors. It provides a cooling and non-sticky finish that helps reduce redness and irritation.
The Cool Keeper complex is a blend of 3 traditional anti-pyretic ingredients (i.e. it decreases temperature) and helps to provide fast relief to overheated / sensitized skin, restoring balance.

Ingredients : Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Phenyl Trimethicone, 1,2-Hexanediol, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ethylhexyl Olivate, Trehalose, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Melia Azadirachta Leaf Extract, Melia Azadirachta Flower Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid, Madecassic Acid, Lonicera Japonica (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Forsythia Suspensa Fruit Extract, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Leaf Extract, Thuja Orientalis Extract, Pinus Densiflora Extract, Bambusa Vulgaris Extract, Panthenol, Polyglyceryl-4 Oleate, Sorbitan Stearate, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Cetearyl Glucoside, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Tromethamine, Cetearyl Olivate, Sodium Acrylates Copolymer, Sorbitan Olivate, Disodium EDTA

This cream has a curious texture that's incredibly difficult to describe. It dispenses as a soft pudding-like product which has a bounce to it when you first poke it. Once you begin massaging it in, the cream melts over your skin and almost starts to feel like fresh water, infusing hydration. Once absorbed, it leaves a hint of moisturization that feels deceptively light, but is surprisingly enough to stop TEWL (trans-epidermal water loss). Go figure!

The highlight of the Keep Cool and Soothe cream is that it brings potent wound healing properties to the table. I'd say that its reparative property is far more than its anti-inflammatory one, and that can clearly be seen from the ingredients list. Asiaticoside, asiatic acid, pinus extract, bambusa extract, panthenol all help in increasing skin strength and boost its own restorative capacity. The addition of shea butter ensures a comforting layer of moisturization over compromised skin.

As soon as I apply it, I can feel the cooling effects of the cream. Over acne and irritated skin it really lives up to its name - Cool and Soothe! I use this as a final layer in my PM routine, mostly to promote healing of acne, especially those that are past their peak. In contrast, the Medicica cream is a part of my AM routine, being lighter in texture and much more effective at combating swelling and redness of active breakouts.
I also welcome its barrier supportive ingredients, as my skin needs all the healing help it can get!

You can use the cream in the morning too, Swati has been using it for many months now in her AM routine and shares her love for this gem with me.

Price : 21.90 USD for 50 ml (approximately 1645 INR)

In my opinion, the Keep Cool and Soothe Phyto Greenpair Cream is a good pick for anyone dealing with dehydrated, irritated and sensitized skin because it hydrates and moisturizes, and cools. It also is well suited to anyone looking to heal their skin post-acne or any other breakouts. It's also a good option to keep your skin barrier strong & healthy. Use it morning &/or night and it fits in nicely with any routine & actives.

xoxo,
Smriti
