Forest Essentials Rasa Activating Serum

If you have been following me on Instagram, you must be aware of my new love for Forest Essentials. Not that I did not like the brand before, I had a couple of items in my stash, but over the past couple of months, that number has increased a lot! My love for skincare is growing each day (read - turning into an obsession), and with that I am trying out for better products everytime.
When it comes to skincare, serums are one of my favourites. I was using a night one, but needed a good one for the day as well. I previously tried the Innisfree Green Tea serum, which sadly did not do anything much for me (I know a lot of you like it though, so don't hate me for saying this). And then Forest Essentials launched their new Rasa Activating Serum which sounded lovely. Of course I had to give it a shot!
"Rasa Activating Serum is a boost of hydration that balances, stimulates and rejuvenates the skin.Applied immediately after cleansing, this lightweight serum effectively permeates the skin to deliver a hydrating blend of active botanicals. Inspired by the ancient Indian ritual of Ushapana, which means the first drink of early morning water as the life giving nectar of life. The Sanskrit term Rasa translates to inner “essence” an intricate process of contemplative abstraction in which energy suffuses surrounding form, and is precisely how this magical serum works its transformation on the skin."
I have been using this every morning (religiously) for about a month now, so that is a good testing period. Here's what I think of Rasa:
The serum is incredibly lightweight (almost water like) and runny and it sinks in 10 seconds! No greasy skin, no sticky feeling at all!

I take 1 pump (which might be a bit more, I think 4-5 drops should be enough for the face and neck, but I have been loving it a lot so I take a bit extra), rub it between my palms to warm it up and pat it all over my face and skin. I also pat it under my eyes (I do apply an eye cream afterwards). This is supposed to be followed by the Tejal Balancing Water, but I haven't picked that up yet ... perhaps next time?
It makes the skin feel plump and hydrated. And you know the smooth plump look of well-hydrated skin? Right? Rasa gives me just that effect. I was a bit apprehensive about how my skin would react to the serum, but Rasa has not broken me out, which is wonderful. It won't help much with pigmentation or any other targeted skin needs. Rasa mainly does one job - Hydration (which is what it claims to do).
It would suit oily skins very well, if you have slightly drier skin, you will need to follow it up with moisturizer afterwards. I tend to use one/skip one depending on how my skin looks and feel each day.
Price : 2750 INR for 30ml (available here)
It is on the expensive side, yes, but if you don't mind the price tag and are on the lookout for a hydrating serum with some beautiful ingredients, you could give this a try. It lives up to its claims and makes your skin hydrated and plump. It isn't a miracle product so I ask you not to expect any miraculous results, but it makes the skin feel and look better definitely. Like the first sip of water your skin needs in the morning!
I am totally loving the Rasa Serum! Have you tried it yet?
