New Additions In My Stash: Forest Essentials (Mini Haul) + First Impressions

Written by: Swati on:

For the past few months I have been really enjoying products from Forest Essentials. This brand isn't new to me, no, I had a couple of their products in my stash and like them a lot (Narangi and Nagkesar Ubtan, Light Hydrating Eye Gel, Sweet Narangi Lip Balm).
The last couple of months saw me dig a little more into their products and here are my thoughts about them. You can check out/buy these products online here

1) Hand Pounded Organic Fruit Scrub

A cocktail of some ingredients like Rose extract, Date and Peach pulp, Sweet Almond seed, Apricot oil, Walnut shell, Glycerin, Bael Leaf, Vetiver, Honey and Vit E, this is my current go to physical exfoliator on days I need it (once every 7-10 days usually). I have been loving chemical peels more lately, but sometimes/somedays I feel that my skin needs a physical scrub too.

2) Delicate Facial Cleanser

Now you all know that the Kama Ayurveda Rose Jasmine Cleanser is my all time favourite. But I wanted to give it a break for a while and try out something new (got a bit bored you see). I tried Dr. Sheth's Daily Cleanser for a while and did not like it as much (reviewed here) and hence decided to give the FE Delicate Facial Cleanser a try. You know I like small bottles to test out a product before investing in a full size and luckily FE has travel sizes of quite a few of their products. I got the Honey Lemon and Rosewater variant which is more suitable for normal-dry skins (they have another version for oily skin) and I like my cleansers to be non drying and non stripping.

This is non drying and feels gentle. But I am not a fan of the heavy fragrance in this. Also, I am not a fan of the brand mentioning only the key ingredients in their products. I would have liked and preferred the complete ingredients list.

Do I like it more than the Kama Ayurveda one? Not really. Will I repurchase it? Probably not. It is not bad, just not my favourite one.

3) Rasa Activating Serum

The first drink of water for your skin! What an apt way to describe this one. It is on the expensive side, yes, but if you don't mind the price tag and are on the lookout for a hydrating serum with some beautiful ingredients, you could give this a try. It lives up to its claims and makes your skin hydrated and plump. A feel good and a look good product, I have been using it for about 2 months, have finished the bottle (yes I used it a lot!) and have repurchased.

4) Lightening and Brightening Tejasvi Emulsion

I have been wanting to get into the routine of facial massages every once in a while if not everyday and for that got hold of 2 products - one of which is the Tejasvi Emulsion.

The ingredient list is wow - Sweet Almond Kernel Cold Pressed Oil, Coconut oil, Clarified Butter (Cow’s milk Ghee), Kokum Seed Butter, Haritaki Fruit Extract, Amla Fruit Extract, Peepal Leaf Extract, Organic Beeswax, Banyan Leaf Extract, Akash Neem Leaf Extract, Kasturi Manjal Leaf Extract, Saffron Flower Extract, Vitamin E.

It promises to remove blemishes and pigmentation which is what my skin needs. I have used it a couple of times till now and have made my mother used it as well. It feels lovely on the skin (though smells a bit strong/weird) and leaves the skin nourished and soft. Long term benefits still need to be tested out. Will keep you posted with a full review soon!

5) Soundarya Radiance Cream (sneaking this one in the post)

Well, technically I bought this one for mom but I used it for about 2 weeks while she was here (perks of being a daughter and digging in your mothers stash) and I was pleasantly surprised by it. It is a bit thicker than the consistency I usually go for in my moisturisers. It feels rich and creamy. I take a small amount (so as to not go overboard) and it sinks in nicely after a couple of minutes. It feels luxurious (it better be with all the 24 karat gold!) and gives a nice subtle glow. Will update you more about this one after mom uses it for a while!

6) Eternal Youth Forumla Date and Litchi

Got a sample satchet to let my mother try it out. She finished it in 2 weeks and I did not see any drastic results with this one. I am not fond of the fragrance either. Have any of you used this long term? Do let me know about its efficiency!

So that's all in the new Forest Essentials stash for now! While I am writing this post I have 2 more new additions (which I picked just a couple of days ago and forgot to photograph). Will share that in a separate post soon!
