A while back I did a small Forest Essentials Haul & the Tejasvi Emulsion was a part of it. Like I said in that post - I wanted to get into at-home facial massages.

Now that I am fairly regular in doing them, it is the right time to share my thoughts about this product.

"Forest Essentials Tejasvi Emulsion is specially formulated by combining pure Ghee, made from Cow’s milk and aged with selected Ayurvedic herbs, to provide extraordinary smoothness, suppleness and radiance to the skin. Cow’s Ghee is used as a carrier (Yohavahi) for herbs because of its supreme penetrating qualities and ability to carry actives of herbs, deep into the skin."

Key Ingredients -
Sweet Almond Kernel Cold Pressed Oil, Coconut oil, Clarified Butter (Cow’s milk Ghee), Kokum Seed Butter, Haritaki Fruit Extract, Amla Fruit Extract, Peepal Leaf Extract, Organic Beeswax, Banyan Leaf Extract, Akash Neem Leaf Extract, Kasturi Manjal Leaf Extract, Saffron Flower Extract, Vitamin E.

The first thing you will notice as soon as you open the pot is - the smell. It isn't a particularly pleasant smell, please be aware of that. It has a strong smell of ghee along with an ayurvedic/herbal fragrance. I am not too fond of it but I can tolerate it
The texture is also quite like solidified ghee. The balm-like product is deep maroon in colour. When applied and massaged on the skin, it melts and spreads easily.

You only need a small amount of the product. Since I have combination skin, I take very very little of this in each use. This bottle will last me ages!
The emulsion spreads easily and well on the face when you massage it in.
It does feel balmy and a bit oily when it's on. If you have dry skin it will not feel super oily I guess.

Here's how I use it:

I use the emulsion (1-2 times a week) along with my Kansa Wand for a super awesome face massage!
I like to leave it on for 10-15 mins and then wipe off any excess with some tissue. I then leave whatever is left on my skin for a few hours & finally use a very mild gentle cleanser to wash my face.
Since I have combination skin, I do not keep it on my face overnight.
If you have dry skin you can surely keep it overnight. I might try to do this in the winter.

The emulsion does give the skin a nice glow and brightens it. With continuous use, you will see a difference that is not temporary. It does help to reduce pigmentation spots & mild acne scars to an extent. It definitely plumps up the skin and makes it smooth & soft.
You need to be very patient & continuous with using the product though. A couple of uses will not show major results apart from softening the skin and mild brightening.

Overall, I quite like this product & would probably repurchase it - this tub will take me a long long time to finish though. It is a good addition to my face massage routine, even though I do not use it every day.

  • If you have very oily skin I won't suggest you to use it. Please try it at a store before buying.
  • I would also not suggest leaving the emulsion overnight if you have oily combination skin. Just use it maybe 2 days a week and leave it on for a few hours. If you want to use it overnight, wait for winter.
  • Dry skins will like this one as it is very moisturising.
