NYX Lid Lingerie Shadow Palette
Written by: Swati on:
Hi all!
As you might be knowing, NYX is celebrating their third birthday in India and fangirling after them has led to many NYX additions to our stash over the years.
So what better way to show you all our recommendations, than a celebratory week of NYX! We started it on Instagram but today's feature deserves a blog post of its own.
The lid lingerie palette is a very travel friendly one, compact and versatile. Fun fact - we were actually looking for a palette that would flatter a more mature style of makeup, you know, as a gift to our Mom. But when this arrived, both of us were blown away at how easy it would be to create looks with this and to be honest, we've used it more times than her!
About:
"Adorn your eyes in velvety color with our irresistible Lid Lingerie Shadow Palette—a new eyeshadow set inspired by our creamy-matte LIP LINGERIE LIQUID LIPSTICKS. Featuring six creamy matte neutrals, this gorgeous set packs a wide range of tones and depth into one small palette. Each velvety-matte shade blends like a dream and delivers incredible color payoff."
This palette has 6 shades, all of which are mattes. The shadows are decently pigmented, most of them were silky, except the darkest plum-brown which feels a bit hard to touch.
When it comes to blending, I find these to be hassle free. Plus the colours are really buildable, so you can control the intensity of your eye look, a great help for beginners
If you like your matte eye looks, this palette is worth looking into. All the shades come together in a colour scheme with most being neutral toned, 1 warm and 1 cool. Personally, this palette is a good companion of mine while putting together quick eye looks.
A mid tone all over, a little brown smudged into the lashes, maybe to darken the outer v for night and that's it!
The first row -
A bone shade that can set your primer, or subtly highlight your brow.
A cool lilac-mauve that I use sparingly, too much tends to look too purple very quickly. Applied as a wash of colour for tonal looks is my best recommendation for using it.
A warm burnt orange is all the rage nowadays, so this shade gets some serious love. This totally can be a one and done shadow, but is beautiful in the crease too to add warmth to any look.
The second row-
A rich brown, quite neutral toned. This shade is your everyday classic matte brown and can be used in so many ways, I cannot even list it! I even dig it out to add depth to eye looks I've created with other palettes!
A light peach shade, adds a much needed light transition colour to the palette, and can also be worn all over the lid. A very subtle hue when blended out.
A plum brown - this one feels a little hard, but is not bad to work with, needs slight patience. I think I may have preferred a black, but then most drugstore blacks lack pigment, so this rich and dark plum makes up for it. It gives a nice sultry current to the palette.
Overall, NYX makes some great eyeshadow palettes, and this one stands out to me for being all matte, friendly to ageing eyelids (no shimmer to exaggerate lines), and versatile enough to get multiple looks! Also, it works great for a work environment where shimmers can be a no-no. And it is compact too!
That's all for today folks! We've got more NYX goodness coming your way so stay tuned and don't forget to follow us on Instagram where we post our looks first!
Love you all
