Forest Essentails Light Hydrating Hydra Eye Gel : Review
Written by: Swati on:
The weather here in Bangalore has been so maddening for the last couple of months. I have never experienced so much heat in the city. The amazing Bangalore Rains aren't happening anymore and I feel like I am being roasted all the time!
So naturally, I gravitated towards products that were cooling and soothing and well...in general, summery. (Psst...Nycil has been bought recently too for the "thanda thanda, cool cool" effect :D Yeah, such is the heat!). Over the past few months I had been using the TBS Moisture White Shiso 2 in 1 eye cream, but it had started to feel a bit heavy now. In comes Forest Essentials Light Hydrating Hydra Eye Gel!
"This revitalizing formula in the form of gel is highly enriched with potent herbs that helps lighten the dark circles and sensitive areas under eyes. Cucumber, Katak and Aloe Vera provide essential nourishment whereas Rose water and Vitamin E tone and cool the under-eye area".
I had bought it online on a good discount a while back and it has been absolutely blissful to be using it these days! The eye gel comes in glass pot (now they have changed the packaging to a flatter plastic pot) with a screw on cap and am additional lid inside (which I lost long back).
The gel itself looks a soothing color of blue inside the pot, but goes on clear. The consistency is exactly like aloe vera gel. It has an instant soothing & cooling effect when applied. I try ans use it twice daily, but most days I get the time to use it at night (in the 10 min little "me" time). I have been using it for the past few months and it does help reduce puffiness. I cannot claim much about the lightening though, since I do not have sever dark cirlces.
Since I am in my 20's, this gel works perfectly for me. It is light and hydrating which is pretty much what I need at the moment unlike the heavy duty eye creams.
The ingredient list is amazing - cucumber, rose water, aloe gel, vit E...everything nice to soothe your tired eyes!
The gel spreads well and gets absorbed in minutes. It hydrates well without feeling sticky or heavy. Also, a tiny amount is needed to cover the entire under eye area and it pot will last you a long time.
Price : 975 INR for 15g ( available here )
Yes, this one is priced quite high, like most Forest Essentials products. But you get natural ingredients without any chemicals, and it isn't too bad to invest in good quality skincare. That being said, I really want to get plain old aloe vera gel and try it too once this pot gets over (if that works similar to this one, it will be very very economical...I shall update you once I get down to trying aloe gel).
If you are on the lookout for a soothing light weight eye gel which provides that much needed extra hydration to the under eye area (and you do not mind spending a little more), this one is a very good option. However, it will not work well for severe dark circles and wrinkles.
