Lotus Herbals Color Kick Kajal : Review

Written by: Swati on:

Like most Indian women, I too have an eternal love for kajal. Sure, there are days when I do skip it but have to agree with me on this, a little bit of kajal smuged on the eyes looks gorgeous and well, mostly stops us from getting questions like "Are you sick today?" :D
Over the years I have tried quite a few....Maybelline, L'Oreal, Amway, Lakme...tried them all. Not that I didn't find the perfect ones, but the beauty blogger (read...makeup addict) in me has to go and test a new one everytime and let you girls know about it. Kind of works out, doesn't it? :)

So when I ran out of the my Lakme Eyeconic, the Lotus Color Kick Kajal caught my attention, and now that this one is almost over, it's about time for the post to go up! :D

The kajal is housed in a bright pink packaging. It looks fun and you can't really miss it in your stash. The retractable pencil ensures least wastage though it isn't as hygienic as the sharpenable kinds. I do prefer the retractable pencils though, less of a hassle to use them. The cap clicks in place securely and it is safe to travel with.
Despite this, I found the packaging quality quite flimsy as compared to the other brands out there. This one jus didn't feel sturdy enough. Even the product inside felt quite shaky.

The kajal itself has a very smooth creamy consistency. It glides on well without any pulling/tugging. The pigmentation is good even with one swipeStaying power is decent as well. It stays on my waterline for about 5-6 hours with gradual fading. My day starts at 8:30am and I am usually back by 7:30pm, by which time the kajal is quite faded, but not completely gone.

Among the budget drugstore kajals, I did find that the Lakme Eyeconic stayed a lot longer than the Lotus Kajal though... (I tested one in each eye :D).

Overall, I think it is a fairly good kajal option. It is afforfdable, well pigmented, smooth and stays on for around 6 hours or so. I just wished that it was more sturdy like the others. Try it if you are on the lookout for a budget option, or if you simply want a change from your regular one :) As for me...I'll test out a different one next. It's all about experimenting afterall! :) :)
