I have been trying out the Some By MI Propolis B5 Glow Barrier Calming Cream & while that's a long name, I have seldom come across products where the name is so apt! Every word perfectly describes what the cream does.

What the brand says : Propolis B5 cream takes care of skin barrier, calming, anti-inflammatory and even skin glow by strengthening the skins immune system to solve multi problems of the skin.
  • A skin-nourishing moisturiser targeting troubled skin, irritated skin, dehydrated as well as oily skin.

  • Packed with rich Pro-Panthenol™ (Propolis & B5), Manuka Honey and Royal Jelly.

    🍯 Pro-Panthenol™ (Propolis 710,000 ppm + Vit B5) strengthens skin barrier & calms down any irritation. Propolis also has antibacterial & anti-inflammatory properties.

    My Skin Type : Dry & Dehydrated 
    Current concerns : currently dealing with a lot of hormonal acne on the cheeks & post inflammatory erythema. 

    The moisturizer comes in a sturdy plastic jar, there's a lid inside to prevent spillage. The screw on cap looks has that honey jar vibe, which looks quite cute. 

    The gel itself is light, slightly runny & spreads well. There's a heavy sweet scent (added fragrance, so take that into account if you are sensitive to it). I personally don't mind it too much, but would have preferred the scent to be milder. 

    Absorbing into the skin takes a minute. While patting it down, it might feel slightly tacky but give it a few minutes and the gel settles down to a neutral finish. Not too matte, not too glowy. It doesn't feel heavy or greasy/sticky and leaves the skin feeling smoother, plump & supple with a nice hydration-moisture balance which I really like.

    Battling with hormonal acne is tough, but overnight application of this moisturizer helps to reduce redness & makes my cheeks look a lot calmer the next day. I haven't faced any irritation with it. Since I have dry skin, I build up 2-3 layers (depending on how dry my skin is feeling) of hydration (with a mist, toner/essence) before sealing it all in with this cream. 

    I made Swati try out this Propolis cream too - she has combination skin & the cream worked well for her too especially in the cold winter weather.

    Propolis is one of my favourite skincare ingredients and I have used it in toner/essence and serum forms. This was the first time I tried a Propolis creams and I wasn't disappointed. All in all, it's a really good find!

    Who will it work for ?
    Almost all skin types, expect those who are  sensitive to fragrance. 
    - It will suit Combination-Normal skin especially well. 
    - Dry skin might feel the need to layer something more occlusive over it. Or build up a few hydrating layers under. 
    - Oily skin can use all year round but might prefer it more during winter.
