Roots & Herbs Body Wrap and Activator : Review

As autumn glides out of the cycle of seasons gracefully giving way to Winter, I cannot help but sigh with relief! In my city, this is the best time of the year; the mornings are cozy and the evenings are cool. No longer does the Sun shine blindingly and roast us all!
So now is the perfect time to bring out my de-tan goodies, don't you think? A little bit of help in recovering my original complexion is always appreciated and that's why I bought myself this ubtan.
Roots & Herbs is a fairly new brand for me but the promise of 100% pure, vegan premium ayurvedic products sealed the deal for me. Our skin absorbs 60-70% of what we put on it, so whenever I come across products with no parabens, artificial fragrance or colours, pthalates, PEGs, silicones, etc it always inspires confidence.
I've started my journey with the Whitening Wintercherry body wrap, essentially an ubtan. Featuring Ashwagandha as the main ingredient, this wrap acts as a deep cleanser for the body without stripping it dry. The coarse powder also acts as a gentle physical exfoliant, buffing away dead skin to reveal a naturally glowing baby soft skin.
This product boasts of a potent cocktail of traditional ayurvedic ingredients, cold pressed oils, and steam distilled essential oils to enrich the skin and the whole experience of applying the body wrap!
Usually, I mix it with water to make a paste, but sometimes I add a splash of milk to add to its skin lightening effects. The paste is easy to apply although a bit messy and I wouldn't advise you to wear your finest when indulging in a body wrap session!
Post- application, I can notice a definite improvement in my skin texture and colour. The ubtan has a subtle brightening effect that I believe will bring out a better complexion with regular use (maybe twice a week?). I'm quite excited to see to what extent it can get rid of my summer tan. My brown limbs are crying out for some good old TLC to reverse the effects of a consistent 40°C heat!
Coming to the activator, I picked this up thinking that it would make a good addition to any face pack or body wraps, regardless of which brand's I used or even DIYed. I wanted something that would, again, help me reverse some of the sun damage on my face and bring back some life into it. This Kesar Radiant Skin variant seemed to be just what I was looking for, and so far I have not been disappointed 😀
Once more, this product packs a punch with its impressive ingredient list, all of which work to remove tan, even the skin tone, reduce patchiness and also provide a bit of anti-aging benefits. Ideally, it is meant to be used with its sister product - the kesar radiant skin face ubtan, but so far I've mixed it with homemade face packs with sandalwood and hibiscus petals. It teams up well with those ingredients too and has not caused any irritation to my skin.
This slightly milky runny gel is a little too pricey for me to make a paste of any face pack using solely this. I prefer to use a dash of the activator coupled with organic aloe vera gel to get the best of both worlds, economically.
Whenever I use this in my face pack, I get a light tingling sensation on my skin for an initial couple of minutes. After washing it off after a good 15-20 minutes, I can see my face looking quite fresh, somewhat bouncy, and very clear. The effect is however temporary. Natural ingredients work best when used consistently for a while and I'm looking forward to making this activator a regular part of my weekly skin care. The brand recommends 6-8 weeks of continuous use for a significantly noticeable difference.
I'll be sure to update you all on how both these products work for me in the long run!
