Estee Lauder Les Nudes de Soleil

The number of requests I have got on to swatch and review this palette soon on Instagram is insane!
I had shared it a few days back an you guys were really excited! And why not? This palette can make you (it sure does make me) go weak in the knees everytime you see it!
Presenting the Estee Lauder Pure Envy Sculpting Eyeshadow in Les Nudes de Soleil from the EsteeLauderxViolette collection! Take a look!
When the collection launched, there were 2 products that caught my attention the most : One being the star of the show Poppy Sauvage liquid lipstick (reviewed and swatched here) and the other the Les Nude de Soleil palette.
Of course, the other products in the collection are just as drool worthy and I would have got my hands on all of them if I could....Between Smriti and me, we do have a major chunk of the collection! We have already introduced the entire collection here and have also spoken about Vin Noir lipstick here.
Give me one reason not to fall for this palette? One reason! Just look at those colors girls! Oh My Gosh....the palette is absolutely drool worthy and right up my street in terms of the warm tones.
Yes, I was a bit apprehensive about the pink shadow in it, but then I saw Violette demo it on YouTube and it was love in a second!
Violette says : "It reminds me of watching the sunset over the wheat fields as the light creates pink and gold tones at the same time; depending where you look, the colors change. It is so beautiful, and I wanted to create an eyeshadow that has the same sunset illusion."
It would be rude not to talk about the luxe packaging. The palette has the lovely "Poopy Sauvage collection pattern" on the lid and comes with 2 applicators -a double ended sponge tip & a sponge tip + brush one.
Normally, I am not a big fan of the sponge tip applicators, but in this palette it makes so much sense (will tell you why).
The palette also houses a nicely sized mirror which is very convenient. All over... A very luxe feel!
All the 5 shadows are incredibly pigmented and go on smoothly. They feel soft and creamy which is why these can be easily applied using your fingers (which is how I like using this palette most times).
There are 2 glittter-y shades (in the top row) which go on and show up much much better when applied with fingers (or the sponge tip...see why it is included?) so I would suggest you not to waste your effort or the product by trying to make these 2 shades work with an eyeshadow brush.
The shadows (swatched left to right) :
- A mid tone warm matte brown - works well all over or to blend in the shadow in the crease.
- A dark brown - to define the outer corner and the lash line (has hints of ever so light shimmer in the pan, not detectable on the lids).
- A pink/rose gold duochrome shimmer shadow - the shade seems to go from pink to gold depending on how you look at it. Really stunning & flirty on the eyes (would suit all skin tones...so don't be afraid to try it out).
- A bronzy gold brown shimmer
- A peachy pink champagne highlight - can be used to highlight the inner corner and on your face too (cheekbones, cupids bow, bridge of the nose).I like the fact that you get a bit more of this shade since it works very well around the face too and not just your eyes.
As I said before, remember to use the 2 shimmer shades with your finger tips to get the maximum color payoff and a nice smooth finish (there is also less fallout of the shimmer this way).
The other colors work well with both fingers and a brush. On a normal work day, I love using the 2 browns (with a fluffy brush) all over my lids.
Can you make out how the pink shadow looks different depending on the angle you see it and the light? It is so so gorgeous!
Price : 3900 INR for 7g
Les Nudes de Soleil has all the essentials for a whole eye look - nude tones for creating a gorgeous base, some glitter shadows for the "Va-Va-Voom" & a shadow that doubles as a highlighter! Quite functional and sees you through the day and night easily.
It is expensive yes (Rs 780/shadow)...but if you are in a mood to splurge a bit and want an eyeshadow palette with some gorgoeus tones, you need to check out Les Nudes de Soleil. Get your hands on it before it gets out of stock!
xoxo,
Swati
