Come Meet POPPY SAUVAGE! (Estee Lauder x Violette collection)

I'm so happy!
We're finally at a place where women are beginning to accept themselves for who they are, celebrating their flaws, being the best version of themselves, taking the world by storm.
Every day I feel this change within myself. I'm using less makeup, and being more, well... me. Easy, effortless, imperfect. Throw in a little Va va voom and you've got yourself a really good thing!
And that's precisely what Violette embodies. A self-taught French makeup artist, now Estée Lauder's global beauty director (much deserved!) she is a mighty ripple in the makeup industry, teaching women how to look polished, but with an air of delicate nonchalance.
Poppy Sauvage is her debut collection, inspired by her memories of French poppy fields, morning dew on petals, and golden wheat fields turning copper in the sunset. I love how the entire collection evokes such powerful imagery with its hues, and also, is so versatile!
Although we would have been over the moon if we could have bought the whole collection (a 7 piece collection), we managed to get our hands on a few key pieces.
Today we will be talking briefly about the products in the Poppy Sauvage collection...but...but...Over the next few weeks we will be sharing our in-depth views and swatches of all the products individually (we know you would want to see them in action).
Out of the 3 lip products introduced, we have vin noir, a traditional lipstick, and poppy sauvage, the star of the show, in a very modern liquid formula.
1) Poppy sauvage - Pure Color Envy Paint-On Liquid LipColor
The color that is at the core of the whole collection. Violette explained that she tried to replicate the precise hue of French wild poppies on the lips. Vibrant red, but not too orange, with just a hint of blue. The result is an extraordinary red, again universally flattering. I'm smitten!
2) Vin noir - Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick
Is inspired by Burgundy and is a lovely wine shade with undercurrents of red. I think it's a universally flattering colour, and the formula with its slight sheen makes the lips look juicy and tempting. Smriti says vin noir reminds her of jam, but cannot explain why! Nevertheless, I can assure you it looks yummy.
3) Les Nudes de Soleil - Eyeshadow palette
Has captured the essence of spring and sunset in 5 pressed shadows, golden wheat fields and rich earth and romantic pink light were the inspiration behind it. The quality of each is stellar, obviously.
4) La rosée - Soft Glow For Lips & Cheeks
Is the most intriguing product of the collection, a soft glow balm for lips and cheeks that seeks to recreate the effect of morning dew on flower petals on your skin. Smriti got this for herself as she is quite into glossy highlights.
The other products in the collection are
- Deluxe Eye Crayon in Terre D’or - a brown copper toned eshadow pencil which can be used as an eyeshadow base or blended out for a soft smudgy look.
- Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick in Poésie - a nude pink perfect for everyday wear (which Violette also likes using as a blush!)
- Pure Color Envy Sculpting Blush Duo in Soleil Doré - a lovely duo of a natural nude brown and pink.
We do have our eyes on Terre D'or (the resistance is getting weaker everyday...so let's see if we give in and pick it up or not!). Not too inclined to pick up Poésie though. Although it is a lovely color, we have many everyday nude-y pinks in our stash currently.
I am not saying you need to buy all the 7 products - but there is something here for everyone. Get your hands on the one that you like the most....before they get out of stock!
This was one collection we were very excited about as Violette's approach to beauty resonates with us. Instead of a face piled with layers on foundation, concealer, contours, cut creases, Violette focuses on fresh skin, minimal products, a hint of color - very minimalistic and classic Parisian chic look! Each product is well made and looks absolutely gorgeous (quite obvious in the photos) making Poppy Sauvage a must have limited edition collection!
So, What are your thoughts on Poppy Sauvage?

Swati
