Top Picks for the Festive Season!
Written by: Swati on:
Who all love October? The slight chill in the air, shopping, holidays and all the festivities around, it is surely a lovely month. And with all the festivals lined up, I thought why not share with you all my favourite makeup products for this Diwali! Take a peek :)
I love Diwali for all the sparkles it brings along. You might notice that most of my Diwali makeup favourites are in line with that. Afterall, it's one great occasion to sport all that glitter!
I am not going too much into specifics. Foundation, concealer, blush etc etc can all be what works best for you. Let me just say that I love me a good dewy base for healthy looking skin :) So, moving on:
1) Eyes
Normally, I tend to stick to a neutral eye, browns and champagnes rule my shadow game. But, festivals call for something extra and I got my hands on the Lakme 9 to 5 Quartet in Tanjore Rush (it had been on my wishlist since forever!!). It has beautiful colors that will see you through all the festive occasions. Just look at the pan! *Drool*
2) Highlighter
This is the time to get that GLOW on girl! A champagne highlight across the high points on your face will make you look like a million bucks. My favourite of all times will be the Mary Lou-Manizer. It is the perfect highlighter when you want that extra oomph!
3) Nails
I love me a good glitter polish this time of the year. And I tend to stick with gold tones as they compliment most outfits. My favourites would be the Colorbar Glitterati Top Coat (it adds a little jazz to your regular polishes) and the Maybelline Gillter Mania in All That Glitters. Or if you want a plain one, then I suggest Maybelline Color Show in Bold Gold.
4) Lips
3 colors - Red, Fuschia and a Neutral is what I reach for most during festivals. I love Lakme Toffee Nexus for a neutral lip paired with smokey eyes. The Colorbar Matte Touch lipstick in Pink Hunt is my go to fuschia color, or you can check out Revlon Cherries in the Snow. And when it comes to red, I like going with a brighter one like the Maybelline Color Show in Red Rush.
Of course, not to forget accessories. I love wearing jhumkas and colorful bangles with my outfit :)
So, these were my makeup picks for Diwali. What's on your list? Do you have any recommendations?
xoxo,
Swati
