Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick, Cherries in the Snow : Review

Written by: Smriti on:

Okay, so I did put up this post 2 days back and this evening I saw that it was gone. Don't ask me how... I do not have the slightest idea. So here I am typing out the whole thing all over again! (I do not remember what I wrote last time exactly but well it is more or less the same thing hopefully) :(

Summing up my collection of the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick posts, I am finally putting up the last one : Cherries in the Snow! What a beautiful name and what a beautiful shade! (This post was so long overdue, I have had the lipstick and swatches for months).
In case you want to check out the other two shades I have you can see the review here (Chocolate Velvet) and here (Abstract Orange). And I will not bore you all over again with the details of the Super Lustrous range. We love them and you can know why in the previous posts :)

Getting down to business without further ado, let's start our discussion on Cherries in the Snow. The Super Lustrous range boasts of a crazily pigmented and smooth formula, and this baby is no exception.

Now, jotting down a few words that popped into my mind when I first swiped it:
  • bold
  • pigmented
  • creamy
  • sheen
  • the fuchsia of my dreams
Cherries in the Snow is a cult classic, first launched in the 1950s. That is so impressive, isn't it? And one has to own something that has been there since so long! Check out the ad back then!

The shade is a hot raspberry/fuchsia shade (A blue based fuchsia) stunning in its intensity, with red undertones. It makes a pretty pink hue when sheered out with clear balm/gloss that is great for everyday wear. When worn alone, it makes for a great evening wear shade that makes a statement and will work well with most of the skin tones. It is creamy and smooth. (As with all the darker colours it would work best with a lip liner. I need to get myself one. Any suggestions girls?). It will last you long enough (no not the whole day, but one touch up should take care of that). One nice swipe and it goes completely opaque. Although I love to wear it as a lip tint too...looks so good like that as well :) And it does not give you that much of a stain...you know, the bad kinds you get afterwards? None of that.

In different lights

Cherries in the Snow gives such a nice pop of colour to your face. I don't think one  would need much after sporting this one. And it totally uplifts my mood on a crappy day :) I just LOVE IT! That's all I can say! Highly Recommended!

And finally coming to the lip swatches...ta-da!
