Pamper Day with Olaplex and Bomb Cosmetics at Bodycraft Spa and Salon!
Written by: Swati on:
About 2 weeks back I had a lovely experience at Bodycraft Spa and Salon (we have already spoken about them) courtesy Olaplex India and Bomb Cosmetics. Olaplex is a three-step process that works on a molecular level to seek out broken bonds in the hair.. "Bonds that truly last"! We were sharing live updates on Instagram from the event but here's an in depth post about the experience. Read on!
I have never chemically treated/coloured my hair (too scared of the damage), and I wondered if Olaplex will show any benefits on my hair.
It's not that my hair isn't damaged, I use heat to style my hair quite regularly, and to be honest that has taken a toll on the quality of it, but Olaplex repairs broken bonds caused not only by chemical treatment but by thermal, and mechanical damage as well!
Before the procedure, the elasticity of my hair was checked manually.
No 1 Bond Multiplier is the first step of the process. This concentrated first step rebuilds broken disulfide bonds and begins the process of repairing hair and preventing further damage. It was left on my hair for around 10 minutes to work its magic completely.
No 2 Bond Perfecter follows, which continues to rebuild and restore any remaining broken bonds ensuring the strongest, shiniest, and healthiest hair possible. This one was left on for 15-20 minutes and a regular shampoo and conditioning procedure followed afterwards.
They also have a No 3 Hair Perfecter which is supposed to provide continuous protection from ongoing damage at home, meant to be used once a week. (UPDATE : My detailed review of No 3 here)
Olaplex claims to increase hair strength by 25% after every treatment.
The key though, is to remember, that unlike the regular hair spas, Olaplex treatment will not give you physical benefits. So do not expect intense smoothness and shine post treatment.
Olaplex strengthens your hair, improving it's elasticity (checked manually again post treatment, for comparison). I would have preferred if they had some sort of electronic device to check the effects, instead of relying on the therapist's word, but I have been experiencing less breakage, so it must have helped.
Update : My hair feels stronger, there is improvement in the texture and I see less breakage! I'm pretty chuffed with the results.
After the hair treatment, I moved on to a super relaxing manicure and pedicure session, courtesy of Bomb Cosmetics. The small bath bombs were too cute to use! Look at that cupcake below. Once popped into the water, they melt away to provide nourishment to your hands and feet...and as a bonus make the whole process quite exciting!
Looks good enough to eat :D |
