L'Oreal Paris Dermo-Expertise HydraFresh Deep Boosting Essence : Review

Last summer, I had mentioned how I like to change my skin care routine according to the season. Spring draws the line between the more emollient products I own, and those which focus solely on hydration. Simply put, creams and butters are for winter as they form a barrier against the cold and prevent loss of moisture from your skin.
As the temperature rises, our skin needs to perspire in order to keep cool. Using creams hinders this mechanism and hence breaks you out. Hydrating products quench your skin's thirst because of all the sweating, and do not block your pores which may lead to break outs (unless you're allergic to an ingredient, of course).
So that's that and now you're all familiar with the fundamentals! So let's check out this hydrating essence that promises to boost your skin!
The HydraFresh Deep Boosting Essence promises the following
The tall bottle of the essence looks refreshingly cute and classy at the same time. The colour of the product shows through with delicate sea green beads suspended in a cool blue gel. Overall, I think the packaging is a sight for sore eyes on a hot day!
The cap has a twist-lock mechanism making the bottle leak proof.
I usually need three pumps to cover my face and neck, and I pat it into my skin. There is no room for massaging this gel on your face as it sinks in quickly without leaving a residue. Immediately after application comes a slight cooling sensation and my skin feels soothed and refreshed. It also has a very uplifting scent, somewhat watery, but fragrant.
Despite being ultra-light, this essence leaves the skin quenched and supple for a long time.I generally use this in the morning, under my new Aroma Magic Cucumber Sunscreen Lotion. The sunscreen has a base of organic beeswax which keeps my skin soft, and locks the moisture in.
Sometimes I also use it under my HydraFresh Mask-in-Lotion at night, when the weather gods bless us with less humidity.
Overall, I believe this essence has helped my skin stay hydrated this summer. I'm so relieved my face isn't an dry-oily mess this season! If you face the same issues (dry skin, with sticky oiliness in the summer) then the HydraFresh Deep Boosting essence is definitely worth looking into.
