theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer : Swatches, Review
Written by: Swati on:
I tried my hand at contouring finally around July last year and after the first few tries, I really liked how it carved some cheeks out of all the chubbiness going on and also made my jaw line a bit sharper! Boy, was I missing out on things! :D
So, while I picked up the Freedom Bronzed Professional (full review here) initially as a beginner, the makeup lover in me had an eye on theBalm Bahama Mama Bronzer since the very beginning!
Don't think that the Freedom one did not perform well, it did, and I still use it many days....It's just that a makeup geek can never stop at one! :D
And ever since I have tried the Mary Lou Manizer (reviewed here) from the brand, I had been dying to try out more products from theBalm.
Housed in a cardboard packaging, it is quite compact and has a magnetic closure. I love the colourful quirky packaging of the brand! I haven't travelled with it yet, so I cannot comment on that, but it would be super light to carry.
The bronzer is a matte cool toned brown with slight grey undertones, making it perfect for contouring! (The Freedom Bronzed Professional, is a more warm brown compared to this). It can also be used to add an overall warmth to the face (I mean, like a bronzer) or to even to add depth in the eye crease.
The grey undertones prevent it from looking too orange or too muddy and you get a very natural looking contours/shadows. The bronzer is quite finely milled, blends easily and does not look cakey. Pigmentation is medium, so you can build up the color if needed, without looking too crazy. It lasts around 7+ hours on me.
Swatched below : (not with a heavy hand)
I have been loving the Bahama Mama since the day I laid my hands on it and I use it everytime I apply makeup. The color is perfect and gives a very natural look. It works as a bronzer, a contouring powder and on your eyes as well. Would definitely recommend you to get your hands on it if you can!
