YBP Color Creams

Written by: Swati on:

Lately, both Smriti and I have been streamlining our cosmetics. You can say that we kind of got exhausted by this never ending market and new launches at the drop of a hat!

Rather than buying more, we're choosing to use what we already have, and if possible in multiple ways to add fun! (Refer to our multi-tasking post to know more)

That's where these YBP colour creams fit in (they can be used on the face, lips & eyes), and now was the perfect time to dedicate a full post to them :)

We might be one of the last people reviewing these perhaps :D But nevertheless, if you are curious, read on!
Oh and if you want to know more about their skincare line, Smriti has an in depth review of their Plant Remedy Oil HERE

The Goddess :

Initially, I had bought Goddess being a sucker for highlighters. To my disappointment, it didn't work well on my skin then and I gave away the entire tube to Smriti.
Extremely delighted she was, I might add, and what was even more gratifying was that Goddess performed beautifully on her! See, that's why knowing your skin type and choosing products accordingly is important. However my skin is much more balanced now and has changed from typical oily to combination (I'm not complaining!), and I'm happy to say that I bought another tube for myself!

Let's talk about this shade. Goddess, as you can see, is literally goddess glow in a tube.

  • It's a neutral-warm gold that suits a whole range of skin tones & it can be sheered out or built up according to your taste.
  • The product itself is a thick but smooth cream, blends easily and leaves skin feeling glowy but ever so slightly tacky (it does not dry down completely like the Maybelline Master Strobing cream which I use a lot)
  • It will work wonderfully on dry - normal skin. On my combination skin it works selectively. I cannot wear it in peak summer & humidity as it gets a bit over oily after sometime. However, it works well on days when my skin is feeling a bit dry and especially once summer is over. It probably might not be the best choice if you have super oily skin.

Goddess gives a very realistic post workout (kind of sweaty) glow, there's no obvious shimmer or even glitter visible on the cheek (whatever is in there is superbly milled)

The Witch:

  • It has been described as a rose brick color. This was my first buy as it looked the most wearable out of all.
  • However, once applied I found that it leaned slightly towards the orange side on my skin tone.
  • The formula is smooth and and very pigemented. You need less than what you think!
  • It also blends easily without looking patchy.

The Princess:

  • A soft pink as claimed by YBP.
  • To me it appears to be a bright pink (with a touch of neon even?). Brighter than what I had expected it to be.
  • The formula, texture, pigmentation all are the same as the Witch.

More about Color Creams :
  • The color creams work on the eyes as well. I do not really prefer using them that way, but if you like a quick and harmonious look using one product, the colour creams give you an option to do that.
  • Both the Witch & Princess take a good amount of time to dry down when applied on the lips.
  • The formula feels a bit dry as the day goes by. I like to dot some lip balm mid way if I ever happen to wear these on the lips.

Honestly, I do not wear these much on the lips. I like to (rather need to) mix the colors making it more suitable for my skin tone, and use them as custom cream blushes
Sometimes, I can get by wearing Princess alone as a blush, depending on my outfit.

L-R : Princess + Goddess ; Princess + Witch ; Goddess ; Princess ; Witch

Witch and Princess make a pretty rosy combo - A color I like a lot!
Goddess and Princess mixed produce such a pretty rose gold shade! It's stunning for a very dewy, very juicy cheek look. A true glass-skin like flush!

  • The tubes are convenient to use and travel with. The long silver cap is not my favourite perhaps, but I like the soft squeezy tubes.
  • I like that they are paraben free, talc free, vegan & cruelty free. Witch, Princess & Mermaid have rose oil & Vit E
  • I like that they have shared the full list of ingredients.
  • I like the concept of the product & that it is an Indian brand :)

Price :  1200 INR for 18g - Witch, Princess & Mermaid
             1200 INR for 14g - Goddess

If you happen to be one of those who still hasn't tried the YBP Color Creams yet, and if you want to give these a go - I would suggest trying The Goddess. (do keep in mind that it might not work well for very oily skin), for a natural dewy glow.
I hope they come out with more color options in the future :)
