Dot & Key Skincare Serums : Vitamin C Serum Concentrate & Skin Clarifying Face Serum
Written by: Swati on:
Hello everyone, if you follow us on Instagram you would have seen us unboxing and talking a bit about the newly launched serums from Dot & Key.
It's been about a month of me using the 2 serums they had kindly sent over for us to try.
Here's what I think about it. Read on!
Review of their Underarm Serum & Mask HERE
The packaging is adorable. Like all of their products. The serum comes in a pretty outer cardboard packaging and the product itself is housed in a good quality plastic bottle with a dropper dispensing system.
I like that the bottles are small and convenient to travel with.
The serums also claim to be free of nasty chemicals.
Both the serums have some good ingredients but the complete ingredient list has not been shared. Only Key Ingredients have been mentioned.
1) Zit Zapping Skin Clarifying Face Serum ( available HERE )
This is a slightly cloudy serum. Runny in consistency. It spreads well and absorbs well. There is no sticky or greasy feeling post-application.
You only need 3-4 drops as the brand suggests.
But I have had 1 or 2 hormonal breakouts and I have used it as a spot treatment around them. And it calmed them slightly, I had hoped it would work a bit better.
2) Glow Revealing Vitamin C Serum Concentrate ( available HERE )
This serum is transparent with a watery runny consistency. It spreads well and gets absorbed in seconds. Leaves no sticky/greasy feeling behind. You need 3-4 drops to cover your entire face and neck.
There is a citrusy fragrance, which I tolerate much better since it is not as strong as the clarifying serum. However, the serum still has added fragrance, so please consider that if you are particular about it or have skin that is sensitive to fragrance.
I have been using this serum on and off for the past month and it has been working decently so far. I haven't seen any major changes with it, which I had hoped to see. I wish this had performed better on me.
They also have 2 other variants in the new launch - Collagen Restorative Time Reverse Retinol Serum & Water Drench Hydrating Hyaluronic Acid Serum Concentrate
Vit C Serum Concentrate : 975 INR for 30 ml
What I liked about the serums :
- Fast-absorbing formula (will work even on oily skin)
- Leaves no residue or greasy feeling
- Convenient packaging
- Both the serums did not break me out & did not cause any reactions.
- Availability - you can get their products directly from their site Dot & Key, or from Amazon or Nykaa.
What I am not too fond of:
- The fragrance. It feels a bit artificial and the fragrance of the clarifying serum is a bit too strong for my liking.
- Only key ingredients are mentioned. While I like that there are good ingredients present in both the serums. I would have liked the full list of ingredients better. And I would like to know the percentage of Vit C, especially in the serum.
Update : Dot & Key have informed us that the Vit C concentrate has 12% Vit C and the Clarifying Serum has 2% salicylic acid.
