OPI You're Such a BudaPest

Say hello to my first blue nail paint! It's called You're Such A BudaPest & it's from OPI

Let's first take a moment to appreciate the cute names OPI comes up with and then let's do a minute of silence for me - I got a blue polish! Me...the lover of nudes, neutrals and an occasional red, who has never dabbled into the blue zone before! Who am I even? And what has happened to me?

Maybe my tastes are changing, or I am willing to get out of my comfort zone.....maybe it is a phase....maybe I never got the perfect shade of blue before....who knows? What I do know is that You're Such a Budapest caught my attention and I loved the way it looked. So now it's a part of my polish stash.

Sharing the swatches & a mini review with you today. Take a look :)

You're Such a Budapest (from the OPI Euro Centrale Collection, spring 2013) is a periwinkle blue colour with a hint of lilac in it. In some lights it looks more purple, in others, the blue tones come out more.

There's also tiny shimmer in the formula, which you can see ever so slightly in the bottle at certain angles and it hardly translates to the nail. I am fine with that as I like cream finish polishes more.

The formula of this particular shade is quite thin, unlike the nice cream formulas I have on my other OPI polishes. One coat gives a sheer slightly streaky application, but it looks better and more opaque with the 2nd coat. I don't find the need to go in with a 3rd coat. In the pictures here, I am wearing 2 coats.

It stays on my nails for 3-4 days after which I see mild chipping on the tips - keep in mind that I do a lot of physical work with my hands and due to the current situation there is excess hand washing too.

Price : 850 INR ( available here )

I have always been hesitant to wear blue, green or yellow polishes, because I think that they end up looking a bit childish, fun & bright yes, but a little immature. However, You're Such A Budapest is a lovely colour to try if you want to give other tones a go - it's different from the usual neutrals, it is slightly fun and gives a spring-summer vibe...yet the colour looks delicate and has a grown up feel to it...hopefully you get what I mean? :)
