I'm From Mugwort Essence

So, what is Mugwort? 

It is a herb, quite popular in Korean skincare & somewhat similar to tea tree, rich in antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. It is known to have calming properties, effectively soothing breakouts, irritated & problematic skin. Besides, mugwort is also anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and anti-fungal (when it's not fermented) which makes it well suited for troubled skin. 

This amber essence is a lightly fermented 100% mugwort extract (Artemisia Princeps)  - with 1,2 Hexanediol as a preservative. This was my first time using a product with such a minimal ingredient list. 
It's packaged in a glass bottle, minimal but elegant, with a screw-on plastic cap.

The essence is slightly watery with a pleasant slip to it. It spreads nicely and absorbs quickly (doesn't feel heavy or tacky). It has a woody herbal scent and I have grown to like the mild fragrance which doesn't linger on application. My Experience

For reference, I have combination skin and get breakouts very often which in turn leaves me with quite a few skin concerns - inflammation, redness, hyperpigmentation.

This essence works quite well in calming down any irritation I get - from hormonal breakouts or dehydration or if I ever go overboard with skincare (though the instance of that happening has reduced). There is a noticeable difference in the inflammation I get these days versus what I used to get during my earlier years. It wasn't an instantly visible result for me, but with consistent use, it helps to reduce the redness on my skin and it provides light hydration which is always welcome. What it did provide instantly though is a feeling of comfort. 

It has been a part of both my morning & evening routine for 4 months. I pour an adequate amount into my palms and gently pat it on my skin. On some days, I like doing 2-3 layers of it (it never feels heavy), usually in the evening. Since it is lightweight & fast-absorbing, it layers well with other products too.  

My first bottle is nearly emptied and I already have a backup. My skin just drinks up this essence happily and I look forward to using it every day. I've also got my hands on their Mugwort mask & cream since I liked the essence so much.

I really can't find much fault with this essence. Expect that I went through the bottle fairly quickly - 4 months (maybe because the essence itself is thin or perhaps because I have been using it twice a day?). I was hoping it would last 6 months at least. Let's see...I'll keep a tab on how long the 2nd bottle lasts just to be sure.

While mugwort is suitable for all skin types, this essence will especially be beneficial for skin which is irritated, sensitive and is prone to inflammation, acne, breakouts and redness. It is a gentle, soothing no-fuss product. The light hydration it provides +  the antioxidants, minerals and vitamins Mugwort has also aid in to keeping the skin healthy. It's not the cheapest essence and I'm From is a bit difficult to get hold of in India, but I think it is absolutely worth it. I wish I had this a few years back when my breakouts were at their worst.
