It has been a long time since I have been thinking of trying out a dry shampoo. Finally I gave in to temptation and bought the L'Oreal Fresh Dust Dry Shampoo 3 weeks back. Afterall, a dry shampoo is a super handy product to have in your stash! Don't you agree?
Claims : Texturising dry shampoo. Create big airy volume and fresh texture with light style control. Instantly makes hair feel and smell fresh. Long lasting effect.
Directions : Shake before use. Spray onto the roots and work in the product evenly. To restore volume spray approximately 20 cm away from hair. Brush your hair to remove any excess product.
I bought a dry shampoo simply beacuse there are some lazy days or busy days when I am just too tired and stuck with oily limp hair. As luck would have it, something will come up on these particular days requiring me to go out! Oh fate! Here is where this can is my Superman!
Now, this is my first dry shampoo so I do not have anything else to comapre it to, but so far I quite like it :)
It comes in a 150ml white can with a spray nozzle. If you use the spray as directed, the product gets evently distributed on the roots. The fragrance is mild citrusy and I like it.
The product is light, does not make my hair heavy and soaks up the oil well. If the hair is not too greasy, then it does manage to give it a little bit of volume. But if I have been too lazy (read: 3rd day unwashed hair...then I do not get volume).
It does not give that "freshly washed" hair feeling but it takes care of the oiliness which is a huge relief when you are in a rush. I have not faced any irritations yet. On the bad side, it is full of chemicals (but hey...it is only to be used sometimes!) and it isn't easily available.
The product is not transparent (as you can see in the picture below). But if you spray it from a distance as directed you get no white residue at all. I have sprayed it from really close to show you what it looks like.
Price : 950 INR for 150ml
I do like this one! It is such a convenient product to keep for those bad hair days or when you are in a rush and do not have the time to wash your hair.
Now this is not a replacement for shampooing, it is just to help you out sometimes.
I wish it came in smaller cans too...would have been so easy to travel with that!
Have you used dry shampoo before? Which ones do you like?
