Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 Redemption Eyeshadow Palette : Review (LOVE!!!!)

Written by: Smriti on:

How many times have you sighed and drooled at the sight of Urban Decay's Naked palettes? I know I have, every time a makeup tutorial listed a UD palette, the tiny cosmetics junkie in me would send up a heartfelt wish to own them. And after all this while, I came across near-perfect dupes of it online. Not some cheap company but actually a reputed brand dishing out quality eyeshadow, duping the highly coveted Naked series like a boss! Who was I to resist? Not a chance :D

Ladies, meet Iconic 3, Makeup Revolution's best selling product (so they claim). The sensible packaging, as well as the brand name sealed the deal for me. Eager to know why I love it so much? Read on!

Iconic 3 packs 12 pigment packed eyeshadows, with a rosy undercurrent running through the palette. It embodies a romantically elegant and girly look; you can mix and match nearly every shade to suit yourself with minimum effort! You get a variety of finishes as well, ranging from shimmery to satin to metallic to matte.

Each eyeshadow is set in narrow strips, and a double ended petal shaped sponge applicator comes with the palette. The quality of the sponge is medium, and you can make-do with it. I, however, use my Faces eyeshadow brush and my Colorbar Eyelluring eyeshadow brush and they work nicely.

Here are the macro shots of all the individual eyeshadows, followed by their descriptions. Enjoy!

Shade 1 is the lightest of all, a creamy white matte. It works well as a brow highlight, and sometimes as a base to make the other shades pop a bit more.

Shade 2 is a shimmery frosted pink, pale and slightly rosy. It looks nice and feminine as an all-over lid colour. I have worn it alone a few times for a bright awake look.

Shade 3 is a satiny nude. It is very versatile, you can slap it on just like that and look polished! Minimum effort required :)

Shade 4 is a matte rosy taupe, smooth in texture and looks great as a crease shade. 2 and 4, or 3 and 4 make a good combination.

Shade 5 is an elegant shimmery rose-gold, with more of pink. It looks beautiful on the eyes, pretty pretty pretty!

Shade 6 is a shimmery copper, again very beautiful, one of my favorites in the entire palette. Amazing to work with.

Shade 7 is a matte milky brown, good for blending in the crease. Texture is smooth and silky.

Shade 8 is a metallic cool-toned brown. It makes for a stunning nude on Indian skin tones and can be worn alone for an easy daily look.

Shade 9 is a satin chocolate brown with hints of bronze. Beautifully pigmented.

Shade 10 is again a metallic taupey brown. 8 and 10 are similar in the palette, but translate quite differently onto the eye.

Shade 11 is a dark greyish brown, in a satin finish. I love this shadow, it creates brilliant soft smokey looks with ease.

Shade 12 is gorgeous burgundy with fine shimmer. Gorgeous is the word for it, although it does lack a little in pigmentation and has to be built up to show its true beauty.
