Cold Coffee!

So summer is here, and though I am battling the heat, I am loving the fact that now I can have Cold Coffee without any inhibitions! Coffee Love all the way! <3

So, when cold coffee = life, and you have to have it almost every day, you need to come up with a way to make it a bit healthy, without compromising on the way it taste. Here's my way of making it :

Cold Coffee, Cold Coffee recipe, easy Cold Coffee recipe

Now, I know traditionally a good cold coffee has ice cream and cream and all things fattening in it, but there is a way to get that thick creamy consistency without sipping on all that extra calories.

What you need it to make 1 glass:

  • Milk (half the glass/cup)
  • Ice cubes (2-3 medium/large ones)
  • Sugar
  • Coffee decoction ( I use the one by Beanstalk and Leaves...their coffee is fab! Know more about them here).
  • Mixer

Take your jar/cup and measure half a cup of milk in it. Transfer it in the mixer jar (Blenders won't be as effective. A traditional mixer works so much better). Throw in 2-3 cubes of ice.
I take 1 and a 1/2 teaspoons of sugar and coffee decoction each (this depends on your personal preference, it can alter this quantity if you prefer it sweeter or stronger).
Now blend! Blend for a while, until the ice cubes are completely dissolved. Blend away!

If you have done it properly, you will find a while lot of beautiful thick froth on top and a nice thick consistency. Once done, transfer it in a cute jar and sip away!

Optional : Decorate the sides of the jar with chocolate sauce to oomph it up.
You can use instant coffee powder if you do not have access to brewed coffee decoction.

Go ahead and try it out. If you make it and like it, do let us know :)

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge : Review

We all know that if you achieve a good makeup base, more than half the battle is won. You can have the best of foundations, but without a good tool, it would never perform to its best abilities. Of course, there are some formulations that work best with fingers...but most formulations need a good tool.

It has taken me a while to build my stash one thing at a time. You might have read my review of the Real Techniques Stippling Brush and the Expert Face Brush. While those two are fabulous on their own, they work differently and offer different finishes. While I was quite content with the brushes, the curious side of me always wondered about makeup sponges. Most people love and recommend them....okay okay...they recommend the Beauty Blender, but as a sponge newbie, I was lookout for cheaper alternatives. Which is where the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge comes in. I got it from amazon a few weeks back and here's what I think :

Lotus Herbals Color Kick Kajal : Review

Like most Indian women, I too have an eternal love for kajal. Sure, there are days when I do skip it but have to agree with me on this, a little bit of kajal smuged on the eyes looks gorgeous and well, mostly stops us from getting questions like "Are you sick today?" :D
Over the years I have tried quite a few....Maybelline, L'Oreal, Amway, Lakme...tried them all. Not that I didn't find the perfect ones, but the beauty blogger (read...makeup addict) in me has to go and test a new one everytime and let you girls know about it. Kind of works out, doesn't it? :)

So when I ran out of the my Lakme Eyeconic, the Lotus Color Kick Kajal caught my attention, and now that this one is almost over, it's about time for the post to go up! :D

Organic Surge Gentle Meadow Hand & Nail Cream : Review

My profession needs me to work with plaster and 10 different kinds of materials everyday, which wreck my hands in every possible way. Which is why my bag always carries a hand cream and I generally try and use it as often as I can. The last one I tried was by Neutrogena (reviewed here) which I loved immensely and was all set to repurchase it, but then I came across the Organic Surge Gentle Meadow Hand & Nail Cream thanks to random internet browsing and I couldn't help but give this one a shot :)

Gillette #SubscribetoSmooth Update : Week 4!

So it's been the 4th week of me trying out the Gillette #SubscribetoSmooth challenge and by now I can safely say that I am almost a convert.
To begin with I had given up waxing a long time back and was only using the epilator (more on that some other day), with on and off shaving (mainly for times when I was in a hurry)

Now, 3 weeks later (that's about 5-6 rounds of shaving approx) here's what my experience has been like:

#StaySummerFresh wih Maybelline's Summer Essentials Kit

Summer is finally here, and with it we must change our makeup look too. One thing I like about summer is that all you need to do is keep your look light, fresha nd minimal. I being a big fan of that (light and minimal is my go to look most days) truly embrace the whole summer look concept. So, when Maybelline put together a sweet looking Summer Essentials Kit, naturally the makeup/beauty buff in me was super happy.

Forest Essentails Light Hydrating Hydra Eye Gel : Review

The weather here in Bangalore has been so maddening for the last couple of months. I have never experienced so much heat in the city. The amazing Bangalore Rains aren't happening anymore and I feel like I am being roasted all the time!

So naturally, I gravitated towards products that were cooling and soothing and well...in general, summery. (Psst...Nycil has been bought recently too for the "thanda thanda, cool cool" effect :DYeah, such is the heat!). Over the past few months I had been using the TBS Moisture White Shiso 2 in 1 eye cream, but it had started to feel a bit heavy now. In comes Forest Essentials Light Hydrating Hydra Eye Gel!
