L'Oreal Professionnel Liss Unlimited Smoothing Masque : Review

Story of my life? Bad hair days.
I have hair that I simply cannot manage! It's wavy and frizzy, it has cow-licks, it has a widow's peak, it's now extremely dry at the ends, it'sfalling shedding like fur all over the place... I can keep on ranting about it.
It's tough to maintain good hair health with a lack of proper nutrition. That's principally why nearly every hostel resident will complain of hair fall and a lack lustre mane. The difference between skin and hair is that while skin is living, and you can boost it with external TLC, hair is dead, and 90% of your damage control efforts will prove futile, or if not, just temporary. Since the formed hair is already weak, there's little that can be done to repair it.
Nevertheless, caring for your tresses is vital, as it gives it some protection against the harsh environment! When I saw this hair mask which proudly declared 'For Rebellious Hair,' I knew I had to give it a try, with a small hope that it tames my hair too!
The product comes in a small purple plastic tub with a lid that screws on tight and forms a part of the Liss Unlimited salon range. I do not own any other products from this range, so I do not know how well they fare in conjunction.
The thick white cream is enriched with Keratinoil Complex : a blend of strengthening Pro-Keratin and nutri-protective oils of Kukui and Evening Primrose, and keeps the hair frizz free for upto 4 days (as per its claims). It spreads easily onto shampooed and towel dried hair, melting into each strand. The instructions are to leave it on for 5 minutes, but I extend it upto 10 or 15 according to convenience. The mask contains fine shimmer particles (I cannot fathom why), and has a wonderful floral fragrance that stays for more than a day on my hair! The aroma and the texture both elevate the simple act of slathering on conditioner on your hair to a much more luxurious act
Post-rinse, my hair feels smooth (probably because it contains silicones) and a lot softer to touch. The frizz free effect lasts upto 2 days on me, beyond which I need to spray the ends of my hair with a hydrating mist.
With these effects, I do not think I will be repurchasing this hair mask, because it performed only slightly better than the 6 oil nourish conditioner I use regularly (which FYI is silicone free). It also did not perform like a deep conditioning treatment, like the Mythic Oil hair mask that blew my mind on the first application! I'd much rather save up and buy that again, instead of purchasing an averagely performing product.
Price : 675INR for 196g
I'd like to mention that its easy to get swamped by all the products in our markets, but always use your discretion to avoid falling for marketing gimmicks. For hair, it's best to concentrate on the scalp by which you will surely see the difference in your hair. Not immediately, but as your hair grows, you'll appreciate how healthy it looks!
