Kama Ayurveda Mridul Soap-Free Face Cleanser: Review

Written by: Swati on:

You know how you have somethings in your stash for a really long time, they work well, you use them often, but somehow you totally forget to write about it. Well, this is one such instance.
I have been using the Kama Ayurveda Mridul Soap Free Face Cleanser for a really loooong time now and yet I have never shared it with you guys (considering how nicely it works...I should have written about it a loooong time ago as well) But better late than never yeah? I was asked to review this recently, so here I am finally writing about it.

"A traditional combination of herbs, cereals and pulses that gently cleanses & exfoliates facial skin. Completely natural, it is non-drying and can be used as a daily alternative to soap. Leaves face fresha nd radiant."

Ingredients: oatmeal, green gram, neem, almond, sandalwood, turmeric, camphor, chic pea, rose , fennel. (Whoa! to the goodness in this jar!!)

It comes in a small steel jar (dibbi) which I find really cute, plus, you can totally reuse it after the product gets over :D  Khadi products also have the same packaging...I love these dibbis :D
The powder is sealed in a plastic, but I threw that away and emptied the contents in the jar (less of a hassle that way).

The powder itself is soft. It is supposed to be mixed with water to form a paste. "Apply on moist skin, leave on for 1-2 mins. Lightly massage as you rinse clean to lift dead skin and release oil, toxins and environmental pollutants. Avoid contact with eyes"

I have been using it since a long time now. Initially when I had bought it, I used it for around 3 months straight. These days though, I use it on and off (since I have to try new stuff often).
But let me tell you that this one is absoultely amazing.

The first use itself left my skin softer and visibly brighter. Although, continued use showed better results (so be a bit patient with it). My skin did become softer, smoother, brighter and more radiant with this product.
Since the powder is not rough & it acts very well as a mild exfoliant and leaves the skin very fresh. It helped control my blackheads too. It does not dry the skin, and will work equally well with oily skin and dry skin. The ingredient list also makes it fit to be used for acne prone skin (It did help when I was having acne outbreaks). Also, a little goes a long way.
Since my skin is a lot better condition now, I have stopped using it everyday, but I do go back to it every few days.
Oh, and since neem is one of the ingredients, make sure you have your mouth shut tight while rinsing this off...trust me. You will thank me for this ;)

Yes, it is a bit expensive, but I find it to be completely worth it. Yes, it is a bit of a hassle to use the powder and make it into a paste everytime, but I am willing to make some extra effort for all the goodness. A little goes a long way and since it is 100% natural, the shelf life is really long (2yrs).
So, yes, I will definitely be repurchasing this dibbi (I like using this word :P). And I certainly think it is worth a try, if you haven't tried it yet. I love this one!

P.S. This is the only product from Kama Ayurveda I have tried till now. I badly want to try out more of their products. Any recommedations and suggestions? Let me know in the comments below :)
